I received a letter in the mail this year in June from Broward County Court House informing me that I had to attend a zoom meeting with a judge and a lawyer that was representing a client from the bus accident that is injured. When I attended the meeting I was informed after three years later of being involved In a accident with a Broward County City Bus that hit my vehicle and tore off my front bumper of my vehicle, and caused other damages to the front of the vehicle resulting in a total loss, I was being sued by a man that said he fell down on the bus and was hurt. He said he was receiving treatment since 2017, and was asking for money for medical expenses and a hip replacement surgery. The reason he could sue me is because the officer that responded to the accident back in 2017 issued me a ticket, and wrote I was making a u turn into a moving bus. I was waiting at a complete stop to merge into the lane and go straight, when the bus entered my lane and hit my vehicle. I called Geico to see what they could do to defend me to my surprise, I didn’t have bodily insurance, and I was still paying on my vehicle. I had my license suspended and I had to fight to have the ticket removed from my record, and they could not defend me against being sued. I had to hire a lawyer. I hired Roger Elkind to defend me. He charged me at a reduced rate. He wrote everything he was doing in detail, and time spent on each task on the invoice he sent me. He always kept me informed on the case and what was happening next. He answered all my questions. I could call him at any time and he would always return my phone calls. He is a amazing Lawyer!!!! Roger is experienced, and he knows what questions to ask. He was able to prove my innocence in the case. I think of how this case could of ruined my life if taken to trial I would of had to pay more fees, and I would end up paying a large amount of money to someone that I didn’t cause injury to, and the court suspends your license until the balance is paid in full. I am 100% satisfied with the end result of the case, I was proven not guilty of the accident, and I didn’t have to pay any further fees. My first case with Roger was a DUI 20 years ago, after 3 years and an appeal the case was dismissed! I would send him a traffic ticket every few years, always great results. Had another case unrelated to traffic which he was able to get dismissed as well. A few months ago, I fell asleep on the wheel resulting in the total loss of my car. I charged with a DUI. Roger once again got the case dismissed! Roger takes it personal. Every case matters and merritts his personal and undivided attention all the way to the end. I now consider him a friend!
