I originally researched Attorneys for a friend of mine and came across Jeff Higgins. Immediately told my friend to hire him since I read great thinga about him. A few weeks after my research I needed an attorney and hired Jeff Higgins right away. Jeff told me what to expect and wouldnt ' BS ' me about anything and he never did. Jeff reaponded to calls and texts and emails as well right away. I was looking at 14 months Prison wirst case scenario and I walked away with 180 days in county jail. I had enough time in the county jail when we went to court June 29th and he got the state to agree to 180 days and I went home 2 days later. Now I am free and clear of all my charges and not a convicted felon and that is because Jeff worked hard on my case for me and I couldnt be happier. If you need an attorney I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIRING ' JEFF HIGHINS ' He is the best arround in my opinion. You wont be disappointed

Attorney Jeff Higgins took my case and got not one, but THREE tickets dismissed with NO fines and NO points! Here is my story, I received 3 tickets during a routine traffic stop. The police were part of an anti-drug task force. When I complained and refused to cooperate with their request to search my vehicle, they told me I was an a-hole and they were going to be a-holes...unbelievable! To start, I was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign (I stopped but not on the white line). The second ticket was for a burned out light bulb above my plate. They said my plate was not visable from 50 feet away. Only one of the two bulbs were out. This was a rarely issued ticket, unless the officers are trying to be, you guessed it, a-holes. The third ticket was the address on my license not matching my registration. Another rarely written ticket, most officers give warnings. At this point I was upset and should have been on my way. Instead, because I did not give permission to search, they called the K-9 unit which was 20 minutes away. The officers made me wait. I found out later from Attorney Higgins, since I wasn't under arrest, they had no lawful reason to detain me beyond a "reasonable" amount of time to write the tickets. They were sneaky and didn't "ask" me to wait. They just told me it would be about 20 minutes before the other officer and dog would arrive. I was livid and to be honest scared that these officers would plant something in my vehicle just to be a-holes and to justify their actions. Without witnesses there was no way I was giving them permission to conduct a "search", even though there was nothing they could possibly find. To this day, I believe this was the only thing that kept them from planting something illegal in my car. Without permission from me, everything they did from that point forward would have to stand up to intense legal scrutiny. Attorney Higgins, in hindsight offered great advice. If this ever happens to you, call your attorney, or call a family member or friend to come to the scene to be a witness. In my case there were 3 police cars, a K-9 unit and 6-7 officers present while I was all alone. I don't drink, don't have any weapons and don't do drugs, so I should have nothing to fear, right? I knew there was nothing in my car. These officers were going to do whatever they wanted on this night and there was nothing I could do about it, especially without witnesses. They tore apart my dashboard, emptied the contents of my glovebox, and found nothing. Finally after about an hour since the original traffic stop, it was over! Thankfully there are some honest officers out there. They gave me my tickets, and told me I was free to leave. The first call I made was to Jeff Higgins. Most people would have been intimidated and just paid the fines, but I wanted to fight this one. Not just for myself, but for anyone else who may have been subjected to similar intimidation tactics. Mr. Higgins was very professional and listened. He even offered to look at whether my Civil Rights were violated. He really educated me on the Forth Amendment, lawful and unlawful searches and helped me every step of the way. Any attorney can fight one traffic ticket and get a simple dispute resolved. What separates Jeff from the rest, is his ability to listen, analyze and find the best solution possible for your situation. He also pointed out the importance of the law being fair to all, regardless of someone's race, religion or economic status. It would have been easier for me to pay the fines and be done with it. Attorney Higgins had the bigger picture in mind and I can never thank him enough. He made me think about "white" privilege. What if I had different color skin and what if I spoke another language other than English? What if I didn't know that you can refuse to let the police search your car without them having a warrant or probably cause? Should you ever need an attorney, call Jeff Higgins.
