My physician recommended a device implant to help control the pain level in my back. Electrodes were implanted to see if the device would work for me. The device was external for the trial. The cost of the physician and surgical facility were outlined before the procedure. The device did not work for me so it was never implanted and I had the electrodes removed. I paid the physician and the surgical facility. Then I received a bill for the device - thousands of dollars! I had not been told the device was an additional cost.
