Sherilynne Marks did a fantastic job preparing trusts for my parents and for me. She is very knowledgeable about Florida estate and probate law. She made the entire confusing process very easy to understand by explaining every step of the process in language we can understand. She is very responsive to questions and requests and is always available by phone and email. I would very highly recommend her to anyone looking for estate planning and/or probate. In fact, I have already referred her to friends and family, who are also very happy with her services.

This attorney represented my parents, now both deceased. To the best of my knowledge, they were pleased with her services. As I waited, alone, in the hospital with my dying mother to be taken off life support, I needed a copy of the living will to be e-mailed to the hospital. At least 4 hours passed after I was able to call in my request to the lawyer. The hospital kept telling me that they had not yet received the e-mail. When I called back the lawyer's office, I got a tape which said, "We are either out of the office or on another line". I did not leave a message when I got that message, merely hung up and tried back half an hour later. When I finally got a live person on the phone, the lawyer yelled at me for hanging up!
That was bad enough, but based on her advice, I filed forms for Probate without Administration in order to release a bank account which had less than $5,000 in it.. (I do not live in Florida). Apparently there is a strange quirk in Florida law that prevents using this method if the amount of the bank assets exceed the cost of the funeral. This lawyer never asked me how much the funeral cost and after a rather contentious back and forth in e-mail, now claims that I told her the cost of the funeral was "far greater" than it was. Why in the world would I have done that? I was accused by the lawyer of being rude and demanding. I wish there was a category for "communicates clearly" , as I don't know that it is fair that I rate how knowledgeable or trustworthy she is. My parents obviously thought she was knowledgeable and trustworthy or they wouldn't have used her. However, my interaction with this attorney has left me feeling frustrated, belittled, out money and in search of another attorney to help me resolve this issue.
