I had medical and emotional issues that had been brought on by the devastating housing market collapse. Our whole world was crashing down all around us. Everywhere we turned, there was more trouble rearing its ugly head. We ended up having two homes foreclosed, medical and regular bills were piling up and my family of 4 was literally homeless! Our wonderful neighbor opened her home to us and was truly our angel in our time of tribulation. We were experiencing very serious and life changing issues which none of the things were of our own doing. Todd Lewis was referred to us by a family friend. We didn’t know what to do or whom to ask to know what to do! It was a very scary and humbling time, the darkest days I have ever experienced. But Todd was a breath of fresh air. He educated and encouraged us and helped us to remember that bad things do happen to good people. His direct approached helped us tremendously to stay focused and not dwell on the negativity of the circumstance but to look forward, take one day at a time and focus of “fixing” our situation to move forward in a positive manner. Todd may have started out as our lawyer, but he quickly became our trusted friend!

I recently built a house in northern VA and I had a problem where a utility pole was in the front middle of my property that had three big utility companies wires on it (1 electric, 2 coax and 4 fiber cables). The pole was pretty much an eyesore. I tried to work with the utility companies for 2 years to get them to remove it since they didn't have an easement but that did not go anywhere until I retained Mr. Todd Lewis to represent me. Thanks to Todd, all three utility company were gone off the pole and the pole was removed. The cost to get that done was less than 15% of what I would have to pay only one company to remove it. He did all this without having to go to court. Thank you Todd. PS. I used to think that many lawyers just want to take your money until I worked with Todd. I am a true that lawyer like Todd will get your more for your buck, Todd proved it. Also, let's face it, not everyone can be a lawyer. Not only does Todd know the case laws, he also has the negotiations and mitigation skills that was required for my complicated case. This review does not really do Todd justice. What he did and the pressure he put on those companies was phenomenal and saved me a lot of money.

Tenacious, diligent, aggressive and highly effective. Mr. Lewis displayed the highest level of expertise and client advocacy in a very difficult bankruptcy situation caused by poor advice by previous counsel. In addition, Mr. Lewis displayed intense dedication in getting out from under extreme deadlines, putting in the extra hours as necessary. Remarkably easy to work with and informative throughout the entire process. Mr. Lewis succeeding in pulling our S-Corp out of Chapter 11 and Trustee oversight and working through the system in remarkable time despite being brought in late. Can not recommend highly enough for effective, aggressive, tough and fair representation and thorough advocacy above and beyond the ordinary.

Mr. Lewis handled my Chap. 13 with expertise. Although my case was not especially difficult or involving a huge sum of money, debt or assets, it was a tremendous emotional burden for me. We even managed to win a settlement from my creditor who violated the Stay. ( Obviously, I cannot discuss it). Mr. Lewis is however, a one-man team. I think he gets overwhelmed sometimes, mixes up cases--or simply forgets. This did occur several times. I took it upon myself to remind him. As long as he was on board, he would take to the next level--in his own words..." We're going to "Death-Con 5" (as a an ex military service person--this did make me chuckle. But it worked).

I hired Todd in Summer 2015 to handle my bankruptcy case. I enjoyed working with Todd because he does not make you feel like "the meter is running" when you're working with him, or that he's trying to rush through your meeting to move on to something "more important." He took the time to thoroughly understand my situation, to discuss my possible options, and to respond to all my questions. He was professional, thorough, prompt in responding, and was understanding yet objective and reassuring. Because he has a wide range of expertise, he was able to provide a holistic view of what my options were and the ramifications of various courses of action. Because of Todd's diligence and professionalism, I felt well prepared to enter the bankruptcy process with both eyes open, and confident that it was the best choice for my situation. I was pleased and reassured to have an attorney of Todd's caliber to guide me through it.

My husband and I are so happy with our decision to have Todd Lewis handle our legal issues. Todd Lewis is a true professional. He aggressively services his clients and fees are reasonable. He does not assume. He investigates and researches to make sure his approach to resolution of issues is the best, the safest, the most likely to end favorably. Todd has years of experience in real estate development, finance, construction, landlord/tenant matters, foreclosures, and loan modification negotiation. I just recently called on him for much-needed advice. My issues are on their way to resolution in a condominium homeowner's association dispute.

To say that I'm happy with Todd's work is the understatement of the century. My wife and I were in limbo for months over an offer that we placed on our dream home that was in shortsale. The most difficult decision I have ever had to make in my life was filing for Bankruptcy. After I made the decision to go through with it, I asked my foreclosure attorney who was finalizing my foreclosure case who he could recommend as a bankruptcy attorney. He recommended the Bankruptcy Law Office of Mr. Todd Lewis. Todd did not disappoint. He thoroughly schooled me in the bankruptcy process, all the while reassuring me when I became anxious or concerned during the process. He was extremely organized, thorough, and as the end result of a successful Chapter 7 filing proves, extremely knowledgeable in all the aspects associated with bankruptcy. Although the technical aspects of the filing were important, the human aspect of Todd’s services is what I appreciated the most. He was not cold and aloof like many attorneys I have dealt with. He was personable and showed real concern over getting me through one of the most difficult stages of my life. I am forever grateful to him and his firm. I can say with confidence that when you hire Todd, you are implicitly hiring a “personal life coach” too. He took the time to listen about how my situation evolved, which helped alleviate the sense of failure that seems to come with making these difficult decisions. Todd is a knowledgeable Attorney who works hard on his client's behalf. He communicates clearly and his background lets him envision a variety of scenarios and case outcomes.

Mr. Lewis is a personable and he appears to be well meaning but his disorganization and lack of response are the main reasons I give him 2 stars. He was over 45 minutes late for our first meeting. He shares office space so there was no receptionist to let me know why the office was locked and Mr. Lewis was not there. He eventually called me 20 minutes after the scheduled start time to say he would be there in 20 minutes. A young lady called me two weeks after our initial meeting to schedule a telephone conference with Mr. Lewis which I did. Three hours after the agreed call time the young lady called to reschedule the meeting. The rescheduled meeting time came and went with no response from Mr. Lewis or his office. The next time I heard from him was two weeks later on the 1st of the month asking for $500.00 to keep “working on the case”. I told him nothing had been done so far and I could not afford him anymore. He promised to e-mail me a termination statement for signature. Two months later I called him asking to have a mediator discuss with us the return of the original deposit. He called me to rant for 45 minutes and he then sent me the termination papers in the mail. I am out the $500.00 and my condo was foreclosed on without legal representation for myself. I am very disappointed with Mr. Lewis lack of professionalism.
