I was charged with a crime and hired a lawyer recommended by a friend. He seemed fine at first but we started moving towards trial without conducting a forensic investigation to clear my name. We then held multiple meetings discussing the appeals process. It was then I decided to research a bit and to my surprise he was not experienced in handling these charges.
