I had a consult with the Gibbs Law Office to understand how to protect our assets from paying for a nursing home and the consult was a no charge consultation. Mr Gibbs and his staff are very knowledgeable on how Medicaid works here in Florida and what are accountable assets verses what is not counted as assets. We were also informed of the elective share in Florida that you cannot disinherit your spouse if you are in a nursing home and the well spouse passes away while your spouse is in the nursing home. They have done an amazing job at protecting our assets and making the move into a nursing home a lot easier and not be financially drained.
