I consulted with Jennifer on my civil rights case against a city and police department. Her first question, "does your case involve excessive force?" My response was "any force used in an unlawful arrest is excessive!" Her tone quickly changes when she learns my case is not a multi-million dollar police brutality case. It is an open an shut case of police barging into my home and arresting me without warrant or probable cause. After three months of review and numerous emails and calls, sheand her colleagues at Maddux decide not to take my case because, "the value is likely minimal compared to the cost of litigation." Please read the firm's advertisements about pro bono work they've done and the caring and healing of the client. I spent 7 days in jail. I lost my job and can't get rehired because of a false felony arrest record. She also opines that my case won't overcome qualified immunity. I've done the research and given her the clearly established cases that overcame immunity. She just won't listen. It's all about the money and money only. Take your case to a better firm than this one.
