Talk about Silicon and the tech industry hiring few women, this law firm has ten male lawyers and yet only one woman lawyer according to its website. It is not because it has only been in business only a short time. It has been in business as Jimerson, Cobb for most of this past decade. It is not because there are too few female lawyers. Law schools have been graduating as many female lawyers as male lawyers for a number of years. The Florida Times Union (Jacksonville newspaper) has written editorials as far back as the 1980's and again in the past several years criticizing law firms in Jacksonville for failing to hire female lawyers and promote them equally with males as partners. There are competent female litigation lawyers in Jacksonville who have experience in the areas of practice of this law firm. So, if you are a woman looking to hire a lawyer for yourself or your business, you might consider checking out the law firms which hire women and promote women equally with male lawyers. You can just look at their photo page to see if the males in the law firm only hire people who look like themselves. . .
