This is the first time in my life I have ever had the need for an attorney in my life when I got pulled over for DUI in March. I meet with Gary Shumard and he told me from the beginning I was facing an uphill battle because I did what they call a double refusal. He was calm confident that he could get me a good result and gave me his personal cell phone because of my inexperience with the criminal justice system so I could contact him with questions and concerns. Which I definitely did text and call him from time to time and always received a prompt and accurate response. The case lasted approx. 8 months in that time there were no surprises I was well aware of all scheduled court dates and there were no extra fees of any kind just the money I paid day one. Gary worked with Mr. Porter when it came to securing me a reduction in charges from DUI to reckless driving and getting me an extremely favorable deal with the state to do so. I have talked with other people I have meet in doing community service and friends that have received DUI and it seems I got “lucky” in my deal but I assure you there was no luck about it just extremely good attorneys fighting for me. There is no question in my mind that I will always use this law firm if I ever get in trouble again and will refer family and friends here if they are every in need of a attorney.

There are few times in our life when we need an attorney; but when one does you look for the best and hope that everything you have heard and read is true. Other than God, and my Husband there is Nothing that I hold closer in the world than my Children and Grandchildren. Earlier this year when my son was faced with the decision to get a divorce and protect his children he needed someone that would fight for him but even more someone who understood the needs of his son’s. Once we met with Maureen Horkin, we felt at ease. My son was going through all of the emotions and he needed some strong Legal support and representation. As a Mother and a grandmother, I could only offer love as could the rest of our family, however; Maureen was able to offer compassion to all of us, knowledge on how the legal system works and guide us through those rocky moments and times from beginning to end. I believe Maureen went into this trying to take care of my son and my grandsons. No divorce is ever perfect, but at the end what you want is what is best for the children and what is fair for both adults. While Maureen was compassionate, and always very concerned with the boys well-being she was demanding when it came to their rights She was never difficult with us; however she was hard-hitting and devoted to getting the job done whatever it took with the opposing side. It was apparent that she spent strenuous and taxing hours doing her job. She stood up for the boys through every unpleasant step whether it be filing the paper work or facing disagreeable behavior from the other side through-out the whole unpleasant ordeal, we knew we always had her by our side. The law was on our side but we didn’t know the law we knew and trusted Maureen. Long story short she is a classy, beautiful lady that knows the law, she is as sweet as your family maybe more so in some cases, and when it counts she is a quarterback that all the teams would fight over. Thank You Maureen, some people say when Momma is happy everybody is Happy well in my case when My Son and his Boys are happy I’m Happy. They want to be together and are so happy, I know he puts their happiness first, and words can never ever express my gratitude to you or your office for your professionalism, perseverance, and your ability to handle the conflicts and hostility with such finesse and never-ending skill. Mr. Porter is the best! Never did I imagine that I would need an attorney so I was at a loss when I needed to find one quickly. Luckily, a family member and a family friend recommended Mr. Porter. He made the entire process as easy as could be. I felt so at ease knowing he was handling everything. He answered all of my questions, no matter how simple or obvious the answer was, and kept us up to date on everything. In my life I have only had need of an attorney on a few occasions. But, last year when I found myself faced with a DUI arrest, I knew a lawyer was going to be a necessity. After several meetings with other attorneys whose tactics seemed to be to scare or intimidate me into using them, I met with Mr. Porter and another attorney in his office, Gary Schumard. The two immediately set my wife and me and ease and we discussed the facts of the case. When the state refused to drop the case or reduce the charges, Mr. Schumard got down to work and crafted a defense that never departed from the truth and pointed out the reasons why I was not impaired as accused. Over the course of a nine-hour trial, Mr. Schumard methodically picked apart the state's one-note case and -- in a daring move -- even put me on the stand to explain myself. In the end, the strength of the truth prevailed and the jury returned a Not Guilty verdict in just 20 minutes. Mr. Shumard's opening, examination and closing were so compelling that my brother-in-law, who was visiting from out of state, asked for his card in case he ever needed a lawyer while in Florida. Both Mr. Parter and Mr. Shumard were friendly, professional and caring at all times. They were confident in their abilities and were straight-forward in their interactions. While I cannot say I never worried -- in a situation such as mine, worry is inevitable -- I can say that I never doubted the skill of my attorneys. If ever I have a need for an attorney in the future, I will without hesitation engage the services of Mr. Porter and his firm.

My experience with Jason Porter and his office was all around exceptional from beginning to end. He treated me as if we had been friends for years which made me feel completely comfortable and relieved my anxiety. He spent enormous amounts of time explaining to me my situation, the law, what to expect and realistic expectations of the possible outcomes. He also spent time getting to know me and who I am. I waited 5 weeks to hear back from this man who promised me everything would be taken care of. But in the end he is just as scared of going after the city and JSO as everyone else. I placed so much faith into this attorney, however when it came down to business he left me handing when I needed him the most. With that said, if you want absolutely NOTHING accomplished, call Porter!

I have to start with this. Several years ago I got divorced and hired an attorney (not Jason Porter). In the end I feel like the guy only wanted my money and really didn't push anything. In the past 6 months I have went to Jason Porter to assist me with some modifications. He didn't have a Family law attorney at the time, but one of his practices is Family Law and he was willing to take my case. After my consultation I felt he was the guy. I had a few meetings with him and I had a total different experience with him than I did with the previous attorney. Mr. Porter genuinely listens to your issues and he does not make it feel like a business transaction. I even told him that and of course he thanked me and said something to this effect. "Well you are dealing with personal issues so I need to get personal with you." Mr. Porter is a very nice guy and I would highly recommend him if somebody needed an attorney. If I ever have the need for an attorney again, I am picking Porter Law Firm. Since I hired him, a new family law attorney was added to the firm. Her name is Maureen Horkan and she took over my case. With past experience, I was a little hesitant on this move. After my first meeting with Mrs. Horkan, I left out of the office WOW'd! I went home did some research on Mrs. Horkan and again I was WOW'd. Mrs. Horkan has surprised me in ways I did not expect. When mediation day came, she was confident, strong, and there for me. She made sure that I was in fact alright. I highly recommend her and I have, to a coworker who's brother needed an attorney and he hired her

100% success rate. I used Jason Porter's services two different times for Dui. The first dui case i never lost my license and he won the case. The second time if was a little more difficult because of the circumstances but we took it to trial and it seemed like an effortless victory. Jason Porter has helped me on two separate occasions and both times his attention to detail really impressed me. His staff is wonderful and easy to work with.
