Erin is such a fantastic lawyer. I’ve worked with her for years over my lengthy divorce. Every step of the way she’s been on top of it all. Never a procrastinated moment, and always 3 steps ahead of the process. It really is because of her that I came out on the right side of the dirt from my divorce/custody battle, and I am forever thankful. If you are ever looking for a divorce attorney, I swear by Erin, she will make sure you are taken care of.

I worked with the team of Katie, Yomary and Sara and from the moment of the consultation I knew that these were the people for me. They were all very caring and sensitive for the difficult position that I was in, offered great advice and were incredibly patient and supportive the entire time. Joseph and his team are incredible. I was dealing with a long distance divorce/custody case, with homeschooled children. I'd had a couple of attorneys, only one of whom actually helped, but then things seemed to fall apart. I needed to make some changes because my children were not doing well. Our plan hadn't been finalized yet, so time was of the essence. A few other mommas, in a similar situation, recommended Joe. I consulted with a few attorneys, but none of them were willing to really listen. All of them left me feeling hopeless and very triggered. After years of psychological and emotional abuse, I wasn't in a place to be able to handle those types of attorneys. Joe was different. He was careful, calm, kind, and compassionate, but still straightforward with no b.s. I felt safe. I think that's what all of us want, really. Joe stayed in communication with me. He didn't leave me hanging. He kept me informed, answered every question, and was patient through all of it. He didn't yell at me (yeah, that has happened before). He helped me see things that needed to be seen and understand from better perspectives. It was a bonus that we saw eye to eye on some things and I didn't feel like I had to defend myself to him. We were able to come up with a new plan that kept the children's best interests as the top priority and avoid going to trial. I'm truly grateful and blessed. God put him in my path right when I needed it most. I have given his information to several mommas who are in need of help, and will continue to do so.

If I could give this law office a negative rating, I would. My experience with Ms. Johnson and her team has been extremely frustrating. I came to this firm after having a very bad experience with my previous attorney and specifically told Ms Johnson and her paralegal Yomary that communication was very important to me. I don't have a usual divorce case and I have not received the support that was promised. I can NEVER speak to anyone on the phone, in order for me to get any responses I have to leave multiple voicemails, send multiple emails, and have had to actually go to their office a couple of times because they were unresponsive. I understand that attorneys are constantly out of the office, and they have tried to use the end of the year as an excuse, but this is a law firm with a support group, so they should have a system in place to support clients when their attorney is not available, especially when the client expresses concern over their current situation. And, the retainer fee is set as non refundable on the contract, so if you are unsatisfied with the services, you will not be able to terminate the contract. Going through a divorce is an extremely traumatic life event, and unfortunately I trusted this firm to help me through this difficult time, after already having a negative experience with another lawyer, but they have just added to the chain of frustrating, difficult events I have had to endure. Please look elsewhere if you want your case to be treated with the attention that it deserves.

After enduring some adversities in my life that were emotionally and physically jarring, I found myself at my lowest point. Stress and worry had taken the place where joy once resided. That all changed when I met a brilliant and talented individual, Katherine. She welcomed me with kindness and took genuine interest in me and my situation. After my first meeting with her I immediately recognized this woman's passion and skill. Her knowledge in family law is exceptional, she is truly gifted not only in her field, but in how she interacts with people. She is patient, compassionate, and takes a genuine interest in you as a person and as her client. Reflecting on where I was two years ago compared to now, I am happy and find joy in the things I do. I never would've imagined finding peace, but in truth, it would not have been possible without the grace and kindness of such an amazing person. I was referred to Kathryn via a close family friend to handle my divorce. I had been married for 22 years. From the moment I met Kathryn I knew the referral to her was a perfect match for me. Throughout this extremely emotional and horrific chapter of my and my daughter's lives, Kathryn was a true light. She was always professional, knowledgeable and extremely prepared for each and every step. And though she is truly a highly skilled attorney, i also witnessed her incredible compassion. There was never a moment that i truly didn't feel that she really cared about the outcome for me and my girls. Divorce is traumatic and life altering. Especially when it comes out of nowhere. To have an advocate that you know without question TRULY CARES about your outcome is a blessing. I also want to add that Yomary, Kathryn's legal assistant, was also a blessing. There was never an email, text, or phone call that wasn't replied to immediately, and lord did i send them all in abundance! Kathryn replied immediately if she was not in a depo or mediation and if not Kathryn it was Yomary. Finally, i will say that to get through this depressing mess one needs to always have some humor and Yomary and Kathryn would help me laugh every time. It too is a requirement. There really are not enough words i can say about these two outstanding women. I could not have asked for a better outcome when this was all over. My girls and I have begun our new chapter and are able to do so in such a positive way SOLELY because of the talents and compassion of Kathryn and Yomary. Again, they are a blessing.

Erin Southerland helped me throughout my entire divorce. She treated me with respect and answered all my legal questions in a way that I could understand. Thanks to Joe and his team they helped me reach an agreement without going to court. They led and held my hand the whole way in a very scary and emotional situation. He has great communication and I felt like he really saw and heard me. I know they are very busy but he was always very up to date on my case like it was the only one.
