I can’t say enough about this firm. I made the decision to start the pre-planning process with them about 2 years ago. I admit there were times during that period when I questioned the wisdom of that decision, thinking I might not have to follow through with any services. Then things got real complicated real quick. I’ve been in the thick of things for several months now, and not a day goes by I don’t feel gratitude for everything they have done and are doing on behalf of my elderly parents. We have a blended family (which makes things more complicated), and everyone on both sides of the family have told me that engaging with this firm was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my nearly 4 years of caregiving duties, and I agree with them. We are incredibly grateful to Amy Van Fossen, Kathy Smeltz, and all the staff at this practice. We highly, highly recommend them. They did everything they said they would, every time...promptly, thoroughly, and with care, compassion, and true integrity (qualities that are all too rare in the legal services world). Our mom (who is 94), had been living independently, and became unable to live on her own safely. With dwindling assets, she was unable to afford to live in an assisted living facility for more than a year, much less a full care nursing home (which, as it turned out, was what she ended up needing). The other dilemma is that she had too many assets to qualify for Medicaid. Amy and the team assisted us in crafting an elegant solution that was exactly right and fully funded by Medicaid. My mom is incredibly happy at the facility they helped us find for her and she considers it her home now. I hope this review helps others who find themselves in a similar position. Thank you, Amy, Kathy, and everyone who helped us. My family is forever grateful.

Amy's office is great! We initially got in touch for the nurse case manager to help my parents manage a whole menagerie of doctors giving contradicting prescriptions and advice. But the legal advice has been tremendously helpful as well. Thanks, team!

Recently, my wife was was responsbile for helping her Mom in applying for Medicaid benefits. The Law Offices of Amy B Van Fossen were recommeded. Attorney Van Fossen and Public Benefits Specialist Kathy Smeltz served us in a most excellent and professional manner. Kathy is very knowledgeable about the Medicaid system and our point of contact. Always polite, professional and enjoyable to work with, she served us all well. I have nothing but good things to say about this office. Especially Kathy Smeltz and her assistants who were so knowledgeable with the medicaid process of getting Long Term Care paid for my sister. I honestly do not think I could have been able to work through all the paperwork involved in my sisters case.
