I remember the dinner in her honor when she passed the bar; the room was filled with family, friends, community leaders, and elected public servants-which made evident to me that she is admired for her passion for service (another prerequisite for a lawyer, in my opinion) as a community leader herself. In a dispute with a neighbor, I called Michelle for help. She came to court with me and helped me out of a situation that could have been very ugly; neighbor things can be very un-fun. She was prepared, knowledgeable, and a couple of her questions to the neighbors were clever enough that I did an invisible double take.
