Umansky Law Firm, and specifically Attorney Quanejha Erwin and Legal Assistant, Ashley Seviya were kind, intelligent, creative and most of all... successful in our educational case. I'm sure she would make a great Defense Attorney for anyone under similar circumstances. Highly recommend.

The Umanski Law Firm from the very beginning was impressive, starting with Bill Umansky ( whom by way has a great sense of humor) He was the first to reach out to me personally to reassure me that I would be handled with the utmost respect and importance, and that was true. I paid the Umansky Law firm required a $3,500 retainer to defend me on a Domestic Violence charge, only to be called within 24hrs for Additional monies for the retainer. After some negotiating, I agreed to pay them an Additional $1,000. I am grateful that my Ankle monitor was removed and my case dismissed after they represented me for my arraignment. I am comfortable with the initial $3500 required for my defense… I felt it Unprofessional to Hit me Up for Additional money within 24hrs after becoming a client. _____ Joe S.

DONT USE THIS LAWFIRM!!! I had the worst legal counsel experience I’ve ever seen with this law firm. They were hired for my cousin, and when talking with the rep over the phone, they told us everything we wanted to hear, and after seeing the reviews, I thought to give them a chance. 6 months and about 5k later, my cousin decided to take 40 months locked up due to his mistrust of the lawyer from this law firm. The only time he saw his lawyer was when he went to court. After repeatedly requesting that the lawyer reach out to not only my cousin, but the family as well so we can get an understanding of the situation and what he planned on doing. A call from him or his paralegal would have been fine. But they never reached spot to us, and never stopped by the jail facility to speak to my cousin, leaving all of us completely in the dark about the situation. The lawyer lied to my cousin about the circumstances surrounding the state attorney, creating a false sense of optimism that proved to be folly. And even after reaching out to the supervisor, her name was Leah or something to that nature, and explaining my grievances with the way his case was handled, she assured me she would reach out to the lawyer and find out what happened. In true Umansky fashion, she never bothered to reach back out to me as well. I plan on filing a complaint with the BBB about the negligence this law firm exhibited, and just want to help the next person who’s looking for legal counsel. Those reviews they have must manufactured and fake. The legal service we received from Umansky was atrocious, and we should have saved the money and gotten a public defender, the result would have been the same, maybe even better. Beware of this company, their lawyers are 3rd rate at best, they dont have the clients best interest in mind.

I cannot comment on the Umansky firm's overall performance, but I can share my experience with one of their lawyers, Mr. Aikens. My son’s case was serious, and initially, we experienced good communication. However, after the first month, updates and communication became sparse leading up to the sentencing date. My son and I felt information about the case was not adequately conveyed to either of us, leaving us feeling helpless and hopeless at a vulnerable time. When I met Mr. Aikens, I found him to be curt and indifferent. Although he did not explicitly advise us against a jury trial, it was strongly implied, and I had a feeling he did not want the hassle of preparing for a trial. Additionally, Mr. Aikens was absent during the sentencing, and an assistant attended in his place. Based on this experience, while I cannot speak for the firm as a whole, I would not recommend Mr. Aikens, especially for complex cases.
