Ms. VanVeen represented me in a probate manner. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience - I was nervous about hiring a lawyer because I thought the process would be very expensive and tedious, but Ms. Van Veen was very patient with me and explained what she was doing and why so that I understood exactly what was going on with my case. I was going through a difficult time in my life and I sought assistance from Anya Van Veen. Anya helped me with a probate litigation. I found her to be very calming, direct, and thorough. She was very knowledgable throughout the entire process and helped me understand my options. I really appreciated how she advocated for me and had my best interests in mind. I would hire someone other than Anya to provide any legal services you may require in either litigation or probate. Anya although a pleasant enough person, is out of her league in the litigation field. She was very reluctant to go to court on my behalf. I had the distinct feeling that she was very uncomfortable going to trial. She sure did not want to go to court on my behalf. She lacks negotiation skills and is not at all aggressive. As for keeping me informed, I was the one that was keeping her up to date on my case. I was not at all happy with her performance and in fact, another attorney in the firm had to take over the case. He was able to get things done in a few short months, while Anya would probably still be trying to handle my case today.
