I hired Stephen Isherwood through the Apflebaum Law Firm October 2021. He was retained to make a modification to an existing parenting agreement and monetary agreement. It is March 15th, 2022 and I was just notified by Nico Apflebaum that they would be withdrawing from my case as counsel. This comes 30 days before my trial, and coincidentally right after my retainer was used up. Imagine paying an attorney a decent amount of money to have your back in the legal world, you work with that person for months and then 30 days before you are due to appear in court they say "hey we are going to stop representing you when you need us the most, and by the way your retainer was used up and we did not file any of the documents your hired us to do". I emailed the Apflebaum Law to get clarity on the situation and ask them to do the right thing, Nico the owner instead offered to credit me $450. I made the mistake of putting this firm in charge of representing me legally and I am sharing this so that you do not make the same mistake I made.

Niko Alphebaum excellent and warm hearted individual, his staff assistant Roccio treated me like family . They were very informant of my case and treated me great. I retained lawyer Mr. Stephen Isherwood in September 2021 for adult guardianship petition of my daughter. The petition proceedings have been very slow and costly. I have to call or set up conference to get information on case. I then get a bill emailed to me. I had to call the members assigned to the examine committee to let them know they were assigned to the case. After all documents was filed and submitted. I was told that the judge calendar is all booked for the next few months. It is now February 22, 2022 and no solution of my case. Unsatisfactory service.

Honestly, I'm disappointed with this law firm. They have some many good reviews, which makes them the ideal firm to go to. Let's just say I paid for a consultation and the guy I had gave me nothing, but a bunch of I don't know...would not recommend to anyone. If I am paying for a service I would assume I would be considered a client...am I right? This establishment is unprofessional and would not reccomend as I previously stated.

Nico explained the process the firm uses to review contracts, cost, etc. The team was pretty much on song, and provided me with valuable feedback. Based on this I was able to remove a couple of clauses from the contract.

This is one of the worst law firms my husband and I have ever dealt with. Mediation has been over for 2 months and this attorney has dragged it on so he can charge us. They have scheduled phone calls to discuss paperwork that they forgot to even send me. Very unprofessional and horrible communication.
