Scott Smiley is an absolute life savor. I screwed up badly by signing papers I didn’t read, under duress. Scott was honest about it up front and he still helped me win FULL custody of my two young daughters, safely returning them to Alaska from Florida and away from their abusive father. He was on top of everything, kept me up-to-date and gave me the absolute best advice through the year long divorce/custody battle. After interviewing three attorneys, I decided to hire Scott Smiley to represent me in my divorce case after a marriage of 30 years. The discovery process required a lot of research and information gathering from me. My Mother died during this period, which required me to delay delivery of the discovery materials to Scott's office. He and his assistant, Colleen, were very kind, understanding, and patient. I found this very helpful. On the day before my mediation, Scott and I sat in his office where Scott set my mind at ease by explaining my options, and what to expect during the mediation, which reduced the stress and uncertainty that had been keeping me awake at night. I felt like I was with a friend who acted as a guardian. The opposing attorney is rumoured to be a good attorney. However from my experience, I will say this: If lawyering were horse racing, I'd cast my bet on Smiley to win every time. (I almost feel sorry for the opposing side.)
