One of the best decisions I have ever made is to have made contact with Susan Chesnutt and her law firm. Life is full of surprises and challenges but when your own children are involved is just a total different monster. Susan and the Chesnutt Law Firm are, hands down, the best choice for your family's legal representation. My case was complex, with a spiteful, malicious ex-spouse and opposing counsel in Martin County. I was VERY nervous about acquiring representation due to limited involvement in the judicial system and lack of knowledge of local family lawyers. The divorce case was just over 1.5 years long, and Susan has been with me every step of the way. Multiple law enforcement agencies and DCF showed up to my doorstep on MANY occasions with false accusations from my ex-spouse. Susan, and her team, would communicate with me constantly about managing and proceeding with these situations and hearings. My kids were withheld from me for almost a year, which was the most challenging part of the process. But, Susan and the team reinforced the idea of overcoming the obstacles throughout such a trying and stressful time in my life. On the week of the trial, Susan brought Philip Castrovinci to the team after unsuccessful negotiations. Susan and Phil absolutely CRUSHED the opposing counsel with knowledge of evidence, rebuttal questioning tactics, and overall fierceness in court. Not only was the opposing counsel left stunned, but we received most of what we were asking for from the judge. We left the courtroom with huge smiles, and I was ecstatic that I would be able to see my kids again. The advice I can give you is ALWAYS be as helpful as possible to your lawyer and their team. Divorce and custody battles will be the most stressful time(s) of your life. There will be many sleepless nights and self-doubt, but you CAN overcome it. Be organized with your evidence, note everything that happens between you and your ex, and do your due diligence. Everybody's situation is different, but the overall goal is to improve your future for yourself and/or your kid(s). Having the Chesnutt Law Firm represent me has been the best decision I have made in an uncertain time.
