I own and operate a successful restaurant in Wesley Chapel. After several years, i knew that my brand needed protection from others with a similar name. Dineen was first recommended to me by another wonderful lawyer who was helping us with estate planning. After 7 years of operating a restaurant without trademark protection, I called Dineen for some advice. After a detailed search, it became apparent that a national trademark of my name and logo was issued years prior to another business 1600 miles away. It was determined that I could run into trouble since there were similar names that could challenge my branding. Rather than apply for a national trademark (and likely get rejected), Dineen suggested that a trade mark at the state level had a better chance to be approved than a national one. More than a year after getting approved, it happened. My brand was challenged by a restaurant in Los Angeles, who demanded that I stop using the name and logo that have made my store so successful for 8 years. Changing my name and logo after all this time would almost certainly ruin a successful business. I responded by sending them the state level trademark documents which Dineen got approved for me. I was worried that I may have a serious and expensive fight on my hands, but I didn’t. The response back from the legal representatives of the challenging restaurant was, “..this matter is considered closed..”. Dineen saved my business! Period. There’s no other way to put it. Eight years of success could have gone down the drain. This past December, I was entering into another project to build a new restaurant in Wesley Chapel. Before moving forward with the name I wanted, I checked with Dineen. It turns out that the name was trademarked and I would likely get denied. So we changed it during the planning phases. The new name was a good choice. My new restaurant will be protected nation wide. Don’t take the risk. Social media marketing extends your brand nation-wide, even though you only operate locally. This can, more easily, get you “discovered” by a trademark holder with the appearance of a much bigger threat than it is in reality. Dineen is thorough and her fees are very reasonable. Dineen was referred to me by my divorce attorney to handle an appeal that my ex husband filed against a court order re an alimony case/dispute. Due to Dineen's efficiency, expertise, and timelieness, the appeal was dropped when my ex realized who he was up against. She was careful to not overburden me with the cost of the appeal.
