Joe Bilotta and his staff went above and beyond in helping me with my legal issues. Approximately 2 1/2 years ago, I was referred to Attorney Joe Bilotta, to represent my daughter who was pursuing a Social Security Disability Claim that had been rejected twice, by the designated Administrative Law Judge. The case was especially difficult because it was based on a serious, but rare, birth defect that had prevented her from working all of her adult life. Therefore, the claim was for "benefits to which she was entitled as my dependent" (as she had no earnings) and she was well past the normal qualifying age of 18. Therefore, the challenge, was to prove, that "not only was she disabled presently----but that she had been disabled prior to her 18th birthdate, which was more than 20 years ago! Attorney Bilotta and his staff worked tirelessly to secure a hearing before the Federal District Court and ultimately was successful in having the case remanded for a rehearing before a new Administrative Law Judge (ALJ). Based on the medical evidence and written testimony of key professionals presented by Mr. Bilotta to the ALJ resulted in a FULLY FAVORABLE RULING for my daughter! This finding resulted in the award of Monthly Disability payments + "back benefits from the date of the original filing!" Most wonderful of all, however, was the immediate qualification for Medicare coverage for the treatment of her disabling condition.- which private insurance companies had NEVER been willing to cover, The legal knowledge, perseverance, optimism and character of Attorney Joe Bilotta have made a life-changing difference in my daughter's life. I came to Joe Bilotta for a Social Security claim. We butted heads and disagreed on points, but when it came time for my hearing, he sent Brian Vassalo to represent me. He had 10 minutes in a broom closet with me at the hearing site to become appraised of my situation 30 minutes before the hearing. Needless to say, I lost. He sent me to an appeals lawyer who lost, and I couldn't get representation to take it to Federal Appeals. My work credits timed out, so I was forced to reapply for SSI only, but I found advocates who only do Social Security. I got approved in 18 months. I would not recommend Joe Bilotta for any legal representation. Because of his mismanagement, I lost nearly 40% of what I should be receiving.
