I don’t typically write reviews, but in this case, I had to say something about the Dell & Schaffer Law Firm. I became disabled sometime around ‘2010, only to find that my Disability claim with Lincoln Financial (formerly Jefferson Pilot) would become my worst nightmare. From the start it would not be an easy task. The company I was employed by offered short-and long-term disability through Lincoln Financial. After going back and forth to the doctor and taking a battery of testing, I was placed on work restrictions due to Rheumatoid Arthritis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. My work immediately assisted me in making a claim with Lincoln Financial Group. After the designated two-week hold, I made my claim. At one point they denied my claim for not enough documentation, I had to get my Doctor to complete an addendum, after waiting and waiting to hear back from them I called and began the wait game again. They caused my anxiety and stress levels to go through the roof, I eventually got behind on my car, house and other bills. I had to borrow from family and friends to stay afloat. These were unnecessary problems that could have been avoided if Lincoln would have done what they were supposed to do. Finally, I was approved for long-term disability. Over the years and after numerous times of being threaten to have my benefits stopped or cut-off for one reason or another, I found myself having to prove myself over and over and over again. My Lincoln contact reported to me that she had sent multiple faxes regarding my records to my doctors which proved unsubstantial. My own Rheumatoid, Fibromyalgia doctor wrote a personal letter to Lincoln Financial as he felt they were attacking his character as well. When I found out that my long-term disability benefits had been terminated, I had had enough, After contacting many Law Firms, I called Dell & Schaffer, there first words to me were not to worry, they would handle everything. They completely removed the stress and hassle of dealing with Lincoln Financial. My Attorney Alexander Palamara, was very reliable and knowledgeable. During a very dark time in my life, they made sure I was good and received excellent care. He asked detailed questions in order to truly understand the specifics of my case. His professionalism and care are reflected by his staff as well. After practicing dentistry for 34 years, I was forced to stop working due to a long history of cervical degenerative disc disease and associated complications that impair my ability to practice my profession. I used Rachel Alters and her staff to win a long term disability claim. It was quite difficult for me to lose the benefit, and they were so helpful in getting all the paperwork done, arranging what had to be done and even moral support. They have also been quite helpful afterwards, doing additional work and answering questions and still handling the annual reports. Yes, it is a bit to pay, but in the end it was so worth it to have won and the ongoing support. I have had friends who cheaped out and lost everything!

6/30/2021 When I was younger and starting my career, a representative from an insurance company recommended a long-term, disability policy should an event (accident/illness) occur that would result in loss of income. I purchased a plan not thinking that in a thousand years I would ever need it. In 2011, I was forced to quit working because of chronic circulatory and pain issues in my lower extremities. I could no longer walk without assistance and was actually bedridden for about one year during convalescence. I had the disability policy with a major insurance carrier and to be honest, I was somewhat apprehensive about initiating a claim because we all know what insurance companies like to do... right? I felt that legal assistance was needed to process my claim. I solicited the opinion of several general practice lawyers, but none were familiar with long-term, disability insurance claims for working professionals. Fortunately, an internet search led me to Dell and Schaefer. I contacted them and Stephen Jessup was assigned to my case. He was very thorough and instructed me on how to process my claim. I had all the pertinent medical documents and had no issues at all with my insurance company. The staff and attorneys at Dell & Schaefer were very helpful and assisted me with the completion of periodic benefit requests. (My insurance carrier required periodic, biannual benefit requests and attending physician statements despite the fact that I was considered permanently disabled.) Stephen and his staff promptly responded to any and all communication requests whether via electronic messaging or telephone. My best advice to the young professional just starting his/her career: 1) Purchase disability insurance from a reputable carrier and 2) Use an attorney with experience to help guide you and process the claim. It will result in additional legal fees, but the peace of mind is well worth it. I will always be thankful to the attorneys and staff at Dell and Schaefer for their help and support. They are very client oriented and based on my experience, an ethical firm that will represent you during a time of need and distress.

My disability insurance filmed me getting in/out of my car. As well as kneeling while helping my brother on his car. Things I never said I couldn't do. Yet they felt I was cured and by some miracle my several bulging disks on my back,my three herniated disks on my neck,my arthritis and other ailments were fixed. They stopped my payments.
