Best elder law firm in town!

My experience with Attorney Beth Roland was simply the best. She was interested, warm and friendly while extremely knowledgeable and the meeting with her on zoom was informative. Also, her quick responses were important to the case and all involved. I’d definitely recommend Family First’s legal services for anyone dealing with guardianship issues or family situations and are in dire need of help.

Initially, it's important to note is that they have a sales team who will sell you on their services. They sell relief and peace of mind though they are not lawyers and are limited in their knowledge of what will actually meet your needs. They will "sell" you. Secondly, you will be required to pay up front for services before you are interviewed by the case manager or assessed for the type of services which may meet your needs. Thirdly, your family situation is fluid. The initial interview is sometimes insufficient to make an effective determination of your needs. Fourth, this firm's communication skills are definitely challenged. Scheduled calls do not occur. Because you are never communicating with the lawyer no one is willing to actually provide information. They are willing to pass you on to another member of the team, who also won't be willing to provide you any information. If I weren't so busy caring for my parents I'd be spending all my time babysitting them. As it stands, I feel that I was sold a bill of goods. After nearly 2 months, they have my parent's money, with nothing in return. For now, I can simply hold out hope.for some progress and improved communication. Best of luck to you if you are sold their services.

Jonathan, Suzie Gopee and the staff of Family first was very accommodating, knowledgeable and caring. They’re very detail oriented. They’ll focused in helping out their clients. They are also very sensitive to our needs. I recommend this business.

Family First Firm was recommended to me by Solaris Skilled Nursing & Rehab, where my dad has been living since September. My dad's health has been rapidly declining, and we have learned that he is likely going to remain in skilled nursing for the remainder of his life (though we hope to get him strong enough to move to an Assisted Living Facility in 2024). While my dad has a decent pension and Social Security, it's not enough for skilled nursing care. I've engaged Family First Firm to help navigate the Medicaid system and challenges, and so far, my experience with them has taken a huge weight off my shoulders. Brianne was very informative when speaking to me about what to expect from the firm, and since engaging them, I have had friendly and thorough communications with all the staff members I've spoken with. Suzie and Paul specifically, have been quick to follow up, and given me everything I need to move on to the next steps. Though I wish circumstances were different with my dad, I'm confident that this firm will guide me expertly through the process, and take as much stress off me as possible.

I cannot rant and rave enough about the experience I had with Family First Firm!! On seeing their high ratings online, I took the chance and called the firm in search of Medicaid for my elderly mom who has dementia, and I have never regretted my decision! They not only helped with the Medicaid process from start to finish (which is a very long and intense journey with many steps along the way) they also helped me complete a living will and a power of attorney. From the very start I was greeted by Mary who scheduled an appointment and answered several of my questions. She was very friendly and professional. Next came Brianne, who literally was available to me 24/7! She did an initial video call with me and explained everything of what would happen from start to finish. She told me if I ever needed anything, to contact her. And she followed through with that promise!! Every time I contacted her, she was available to answer any question no matter the day or time! Next, I personally met with Laurie who helped me with the paperwork and logistics needed for the entire process and she made sure an attorney was present to confirm the legality of everything throughout the process. She made sure our account was passed on to the correct people for each step of our application process. She's also the one who had the pleasure of calling me to tell me the application had been approved!!! Once we got closer to the Medicaid section, I was directed to Angie. This kind-hearted soul explained in detail what to expect during the interview process and was there always to hear my concerns, my sad days and my good days! I truly felt a bond with her and will never forget her sweetness and purity of a true wonderful person! I also had the pleasure of working with Indigo who made sure all our documents were in perfect order, with every "T" crossed and every "I" dotted. She knows the ins and outs and made sure our application was in pristine condition. Kandyce was the last piece of the puzzle. Although the only contact I ever had with her was the glorious "Application was Approved" email, I was told that she was contacting the different agencies frequently, to check up on our application status and to made sure they knew Family First Firm was keeping track of us. I highly recommend this law firm and am very happy I had the opportunity to work with them!

Attorney Hoatson took the time to explain legal documents in a manner we could understand. He made sure my mom’s questions and concerns were addressed and reassured us that we were making the right decisions for the care and protection of my parents in the future. Unfortunately, I have to edit my review. I had previously deleted a one star review because the lead attorney met with us and assured us our case was being handled properly. At the end of that conversation (two weeks ago) he said one of our assigned team members would call the next day. We haven’t heard from them. Two stars because the owner seems to know what he’s doing. However, the employees we were assigned (Corrinne, Lyndsay, and Holly) are unresponsive and dismissive. Throughly disgusted that we’ve spent close to $9000 for this. We began this process in April. We are no further than when we stepped in the office five months ago.
