My practice in Indianapolis is limited to criminal defense. I've been at this for 20 years with dozens of DWI jury trials under my belt. Because of that experience, I felt like I knew NHTSA's "DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST)" manual like the back of my hand. Let me tell you - I did not! There is NOTHING CLOSE to preparing yourself to CX officers in court on SFSTs than being trained to properly administer them yourself. Having recently completed IDS's 24-hour NHTSA Practitioner Course, I now have additional tools to defend my clients charged with DWI. Tony Palacios is an amazing instructor! A former police officer and DWI task force veteran, Tony has the experience and communication skills to make sure you come away from his course armed to better handle SFSTs in the courtroom. This is the exact same 24-hour course given to law enforcement officers across the country and includes two (2) hands-on practical exercise blocks where you will personally administer SFSTs to people who have consumed varying known quantities of alcohol. To date, I've attended 2 courses taught by Tony Palacios at Impaired Driving Specialists. Tony is both an exceptional teacher, and a true expert in the field. His extensive experience is unparalleled. Not only has he attained the highest level of training, he is one of the few experts who train the best of the best. On top of his endless knowledge is this field, Tony is a gifted teacher. He is able to explain the material in a way that is easy to learn in a comfortable and relaxed setting. And there is no shortage of meaningful and often funny stories to emphasize the material, making it easy to remember. After taking the SFST practitioner and instructor course, I also feel like an expert in the field. Tony also spared no expense with respect to where the seminars are held. Always in a professional setting, taking into consideration that many attendees travel from out of town or state, Tony ensured that hotel accommodations and restaurants were close by, and he also was able to help with discounted rates at a number of different hotels. I will be attending my third seminar with Tony soon. I can't imagine ever not aligning myself with Tony and IDS. Tony's natural, personable demeanor is quite rare, and he has made himself available to all of his attendees long after the seminars have ended. True experts, professionals, and exceptional teachers. A rare and valuable person and company that you will be glad and proud to affiliate with.

This course is an absolute MUST for all attorneys who intend on or are currently litigating DUI/DWI cases. Not attending this course amounts to malpractice. You should know more than the officer that is testifying in the case. Tony is an expert and a wealth of knowledge. My sincere thanks for help, guidance and dedication to our legal system.
