I had the good fortune of being represented by Allen Lightcap. From the outset, Allen was compassionate and caring. His demeanor was professional and calm at all times. I always felt like he sincerely cared for me and helping me to the best of his ability. The best part is he was always kind. In the time since, I've had a few occasions to reach out to Allen for various follow up questions, both related and unrelated. He always promptly answered my calls, texts, and emails. Several times, he has reached out to me, just to check in on me. I can't say enough nice things about Allen as a professional and as a human. Definitely the best of both worlds. Highly recommended.

I’m a teacher who currently works in Forsyth County, but formerly worked in DeKalb for 9 years. In April of 2024, I found out that a criminal arrest warrant was taken out on me for an incident that happened at my former school in August of 2023–despite the fact that the incident was investigated by DeKalb County Schools and resulted in my being found completely innocent of any wrongdoing and allowed to return to my position. We won the case (“warrant denied!”) and I would highly recommend Allen to anyone in need of an attorney. I'm a teacher and I was falsely accused of misconduct with a student. I spoke with a detective about the case and answered his questions, and then I consulted several lawyers. Many of them said worrisome things and made me feel like an idiot because I spoke to the detective at all, something I now know you shouldn't do without consulting a lawyer first. I was feeling terrible and losing hope about my situation, and then I found Allen. He immediately put me at ease. He reiterated the fact that I did nothing wrong with this student and broke down the details of the law, all of which no other lawyer did. Allen never said this case couldn't go to court, but based on the law and the details of the situation, he truly didn't think it would. This reassurance gave me hope and kept me going during this terrible time. He regularly called and spoke to the detective to clarify any misunderstandings and gather new information. He also set up a private polygraph for me to take because the detective had insisted on me taking one. Allen is honest, personable, and incredibly genuine. I truly felt like he cared about me and what I was going through. He called me often just to check in and see how I was doing. He was always there to talk to and I felt better knowing he was fighting for me. I learned a lot from him during this experience and I feel so grateful to have found him. I hope I never need to have an attorney again, but if I do, I'll feel safe knowing that I have Allen on my side.

Allen went above and beyond in his defense of the criminal charges against me. Not only was I cleared of all criminal charges, but Allen assisted my other attorney, Daniel Woodrum, in the hearing dealing with my educator’s license.
