They are excellent at what they do

I hired Alex when he was working at his last firm. From the moment I met him, I felt like I put my auto injury case in the right hands. Every other lawyer I spoke with prior to him made me feel like I didn’t even have a case. Alex treated me with courtesy and respect and he was extremely knowledgeable. My case was still active when he made the move to open his own firm and I didn’t hesitate to let him keep my business. I would recommend him to anybody that I know.

I used this law firm in a custody dispute about a year ago. I had a previous attorney who tried to force me to settle on things I didn’t think were in the child’s best interest. I decided to part with that attorney and after doing research and having the consultation, I paid the retainer at the Siemon law firm. But it was very late in my case because of that. Turns out the person you have the consultant with isn’t always your attorney. That was my first issue but after researching attorney Andy Margolis and seeing he had a good background I chose to ignore that. The first call I received after paying my retainer they informed me we had just gotten a court date so I owed $10k immediately. That should have been my second red flag but again it was late in my case and knew he had to get caught up on my case so I paid that and tried to get everything they needed. I sent hundreds of screenshots of texts. Some of arguing, others showing coparenting struggles. Many were before I knew you don’t have to correct false allegations and can just simply say it’s not true. I knew some may not be used due to back and forth but knew multiple would be helpful as evidence in court. I trusted that an attorney would know best which to use and which wouldn’t. Mr Margolis said he went through the messages only to decide to use one that was only a small part of the case. I asked repeatedly for him to add more as proof of what I was saying. He never did. During all of this my wedding was coming up and my ex was trying to refuse to allow our child to be there and the week after Mr. Margolis had a family vacation planned for the week after. He had the court date rescheduled to the week before my wedding. Which gave us less time to prepare but he claimed he was worried my child would miss an important life event. I didn’t feel prepared for court and although he said it went as expected, I didn’t agree. Mr. Margolis did tell me when asked about the lack of evidence shown that would have proven multiple lies that were told in court that the only punishment would have been reduced parenting time which was already happening. When I addressed my concerns on the behavior from my ex not changing since none of that was brought up and I was told to let the past go and try to start over. Mr. Margolis reached out repeatedly on my wedding day to try to get me to agree to the new order. When I told him I believed some of that was incorrect based on the email that detailed the judge’s decision he told me that we couldn’t argue it, that time was over. I decided to turn my phone off for my wedding ceremony and reception and deal with it the next day. When I turned my phone back on, I saw an email showing he had already sent the paperwork to the other attorney without my consent. Over all we spent about $20k in one month for an attorney to not handle the case in anyway like I wanted. I believe his family vacation was more important than our lives and he wanted my case off his desk before that. But that is my opinion. I did call and speak to a partner of the firm and she was very helpful with advice of what to do from this point on and did say she could see how I thought part of the paperwork was incorrect but without checking with the court we would never know. She is the only reason the law firm deserves any stars honestly in my opinion. I wasn’t going to post a review on my experience however I wish someone could have warned me. I believe I would have done better representing myself. But when someone asks me for a family law attorney referral I tell them to call my ex’s attorney.

He also kept me calm and patient during this case and was able to get me the most out of my case if your hesitation about calling this law firm don’t hesitate they will do there best with working on you and case and communication is a big thing with me and I must say the communication was there during every step of the way during this journey I would like to thank the Northover law group for going above and beyond .
