Scott Slappey has been my attorney representing my Workers Comp Case since my injury WAY back in 2000 ! YES that is correct. 19 Long Years fighting with the Insurance Company before my case finally settled. I am definitely his longest WC case/client, however , don’t worry this is not the norm. I consider myself very blessed to have had Scott’s Expertise, Compassion, and Great knowledge of the Law that governs the cases when you receive a work related injury in the State of Georgia. My first surgery was in 2001 and while in the hospital , the company I worked for went out of Business ! Scott was there to answer any of my questions and we began this long journey together ( NEVER thinking it was going to be 19 years ). It was a wonderful feeling to know and feel that your in the best hands of a Professional, Extremely Intelligent and Kind attorney. Scott is ONE OF THE MOST WELL RESPECTED ATTORNEYS in Atlanta, not only by his peers, but also by the Judges and GA Lawmakers. Scott is very involved and it has become one of his life’s passions in trying to change the laws to offer more benefits to the injured person as well as protecting the constitutional rights of these same individuals. As some of you may already know and have experienced the CRAZY WORD you enter when you have a work related injury. It is Nothing like your regular health insurance. This is a whole NEW Ballgame. It comes with a WHOLE LOT OF RULES, LAWS, AND UNFORTUNATELY, GAMES PLAYED AND USED AGAINST YOU BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY to wear you down , frustrate you, IN HOPES YOU WILL JUST GIVE UP. Sadly, Some Do! There are some attorneys that want you to hurry up and settle your case so they can get paid. Do you know that Workers Comp Attorneys put in all this work for you and Don’t get paid unless YOUR able to settle your case ? In my situation Scott put in countless hours within the 19 years, paying out of his own pocket for expenses he may never get repaid for. He never said one word. I never felt like he was pushing me. He fought for me on so many different issues and Kathleen Waters, his assistant, was always thereto help. Kathleen is the glue that holds that office together. They are quite the TEAM ! I can’t THANK Scott Slappey enough for helping me thru this difficult time in my life. He is more than a great attorney, he is my friend and I will be forever grateful to him for never giving up on me, and for helping me to find JOY again.

Slappy and Sadd were the only attorneys that would take our case when all the others said NO. No other attorney believed someone with 250 employees had no workers comp insurance. Well Scott Slappey took the case and guess what, settled it with that employer. They are a great team that knows their business and they made sure we were treated fair. I am glad to call them friend. My husband was in serious motorcycle accident on his birthday September of last year. He was in serious condition with multiple injuries. Ed came to the hospitals ICU the very next day. My wife and I were involved in an accident which caused both of us to be injured. My injuries required a back surgery, but what seems to be the most frustrating memory from our whole ordeal was seeing how the insurance companies neglected to pay.
