It's impossible to accurately describe the lost feeling of realizing you need power of attorney, updated will and general guidance all of a sudden when dealing with a parent with dementia. Those who have done it know, and those who have not cannot accurately picture it. After my mother was hospitalized and we had to travel from California to tend to her, we quickly realized we needed help not only with her specific physical issues but with her accelerating dementia. We found Hurley by chance, just doing searches, and they accommodated our urgency to get us what we needed within a few days. Since, their guidance has been the most valuable piece of our ability to attack my mother's care and support from afar. I wouldn't attempt to do this without help, and in retrospect, I can't think of a single thing Hurley could have done better or differently that would have made anything better or easier. Their responsiveness has been superb, their work flawless and their advice kind, compassionate and professional. I'll forever know that their guidance prevented us from making many bad decisions, all of which would have made it worse for the one person we're focused on - my mother. I'm grateful for Hurley and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone requiring this kind of advice.

If you are looking for an elder care law team, look no further and choose Hurley Elder Care. My grandmother’s health took a turn for the worse and I was unsure of my options for her care needs. I didn’t know what to do about her assets since she would be staying at the nursing home indefinitely. My initial consultation with the attorney answered all my questions and explained what would be in the plan to get her approved for Medicaid. I will say that it is a lot of work getting everything together but without the help from their team I wouldn’t have been able to do any of it. Hurley Elder Care Law went to work for my Mother and navigated all of the Government red tape and got her approved for Medicaid in short order. Went in to looking for long term care for my Father-in-Law right at the beginning of the Pandemic. Sadly, even though looking better he past shortly after. Team quickly changed from helping us with long term care to helping us with handling his passing. The team was swift with change of course and helped us greatly, especially since many needed government offices were closed, understaffed, overwhelmed or a combination due to said pandemic. Lawyers and staff were very professional and personable. (Roll Tide!)

I was caring for my grandmother and a bit lost . This law firm said they would help with aspects of filing for services and helping me navigate processes for my grandmother to make sure I provided her with the best care possible. Once they received payment, they simply wanted me to report back to them and offered no actual help in filing or figuring out anything. Dealing with this law firm and choosing them was the biggest mistake I made in caring for my grandmother.

Due to aging, escalating health and cost concerns for both my husband and myself, I chose to work with Hurley Elder Care to do care and estate planning. I am so very pleased with the result.
