Was offered the chance for public defender in magistrate Court just got railroaded by the judges an the Whitfield Co code office

Very kind, helpful, and efficient!

I sat in jail for 6 months without a bond, an attorney that never once came to the jail to see me, denies receiving over 60 letters from me, waived my evidentiary hearing, waived my preliminary hearing, tried to give me a discovery with photocopies and not the real evidence, and when she did give me my discovery she was a pompous, arrogant, crass person.

I don’t know why they allow you to do google reviews on courts but hey here we go. Beautiful 21st century small town architecture. Front door officers were nice, didn’t get a pat down but the hospitality was on point and they told me where I needed to go so 10/10. Went down to probate, they had a cute lil lady workin the licensing section. Super nice and friendly and wasn’t mean about all my questions. Got my business done and went on my way. Ran into 3 people total that didn’t work there. Love to see it. Would go again but hopefully wont

I called trying to relay some information about a family member with mental illness who had recently been incarcerated, and let them know he's been missing for two years. The man showed ZERO empathy, said have a nice day and hung up on me. They didn't give me any information on what was going on or what I could do to help. I can't believe someone in their position would act that way.

I wanted to fight a traffic ticket that I believed was unjust. I was told by the prosecutor that I'd be able to explain my situation to the judge. I was given no such opportunity unless I interrupted the judge, and I wasn't going to do that. I was offered driving school and had my fine reduced because it was my first offense, but I NEVER got to tell the judge that there wasn't a speed limit sign on that road. They pretty much did all the talking and had complete control over the conversation and situation. Yes, they were nice but also stern. Yes, they were lenient and reduced my fine and let me take a driving course. But NO, they didn't let me get a real word in otherwise!! The prosecutor circled guilty on my paper and handed it to me to sign while I was in front of the judge. I felt like I to just had be quiet and sign it so I don't make a scene. This is quota collecting at it's finest. I will NEVER forget this!! I no longer feel safe around whitfield county sheriff officers knowing this. This is organized government nitpicking and using authority to take money from people.
