I retained Carolyn in 2014 for a pretty straight-forward divorce. The case was finalized within a more-than-reasonable time frame, a credit to Carolyn's efficiency. However, a residual issue agreed upon by me and my ex wife in the final decree required me to consult Carolyn once again in late 2017. I was pleasantly surprised that Carolyn remembered me as well as the key details of my case. She wasted no time in contacting my ex wife getting rapid and pretty painless resolution to our residual issue. Without a doubt, Carolyn is extremely knowledgeable about the "legal/professional piece" of her work, but in family law especially, there is also a great deal of emotional heaviness at play for all parties involved. A great lawyer is keenly aware of the of emotional piece and uses that awareness to navigate her client through the process. Certainly Carolyn was sensitive to me as her client, but she also managed with sensitivity all of her dealings with my ex wife. I respect her highly for that. Carolyn Torres-Mabe is a great lawyer and I recommend her without hesitation.

I have known Carolyn Torres-Mabe for over a decade and in many occasions her advise has helped me understand various aspects of the law. To every question I've asked, she's provided solid and satisfactory answers. She's a very competent lawyer and also a person of high integrity. In terms of Family Law, her personal experience -- wife, mom, stepmom -- gives her additional insights and compassion, which clients can appreciate as they go through the legal process.

I used Carolyn for 2 years for divorce and child custody. She was very responsive, empathetic and professional but I found she lacked aggression and negotiation skills but mostly she made poor recommendations. She recommended Heather Wright as guardian ad litem when was disastrous (high legal bills, unilateral decisions, power struggles and long delays). Turns out ms wright was a business attorney and both me and my ex spouse found her to lack qualifications to investigate child custody cases. Ms mabe also uses Pam Anderson from resolve to solve as her mediator who lacks the objectivity and legal experience to mediate such cases. I later found out the GAL (Heather wright) and mediator (Pam Anderson) are friends and I question whether this is why they were recommended. Bullying, coercion and unprofessional tactics were used that resulted in a poorly crafted final order. Ms mabe also recommended Sarah Brogdon as a parent coordinator. Although ms Brogdon has many years experience ms mabe never followed up with ms Brogdon nor disputed any findings of the parent coordinator. Ms Brogdon seemed to recommended frequently by a group of attorneys which questioned all of these individuals objectivity. If you have an uncontested divorce ms mabe will be fine. If you have a complex custody case she most likely will suggest a GAL which I would not recommend and if you have to use one per court order I would run as far away as possible if she recommends Heather C Wright who I found to be hot headed, abrasive, zealous with her billing and lacking boundaries on what constituents "best interest of children." By the way I am the primary custodial parent who "won" my case and who was highly recommended in GALs report by ms wright yet I would never use any of these legal professionals ever again nor would I ever recommend their services. I recommend, based on my experience, to research and highly consider staying away from Heather wright, Sarah Brogdon, Pam Anderson (resolve to solve) and Gibbs and mabe for divorce or child custody.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ms. Torres-Mabe on two different occasions. The first was as representation during a very contentious divorce, and the second, a breach of contract dispute. Not only was she always thoroughly prepared, she remained in constant contact and seemed to take a personal interest in protecting me and my family during both engagements. Issues requiring legal counsel can often be some of the most stressful and trying experiences a person will ever face. It was very reassuring during this process to know that my attorney would respond quickly and compassionately to any of my requests or concerns. Knowledge and competency are to be expected when engaging an attorney. An attorney that offers those things and treats you as a personal friend in the process can make a potentially unsettling experience much more bearable. I regularly recommend Ms. Torres-Mabe to any of my friends or family that need legal guidance and would not hesitate for a moment to engage her again should I need an attorney.
