There is no other attorney I would trust, as much as I trust Michael Ray. Michael Ray has represented me in 2 different cases now- criminal defense case involving traffic law & family law/divorce. I had never been involved with the law before my traffic law case. MR made certain all of my nerves were put to rest by keeping me informed of the entire process and what to expect with each step. He knew the outcome of my case could potentially jeopardize my future, so he made certain we had specialists lined up to obtain further discovery incase we were to go to trial. MR was in constant communication with me on the status of the case. When there was a hearing or anything with the court, MR would make sure I knew exactly what to expect before hand. If I needed to meet with him, he was available. MR is thorough in explaining your charges and what the outcome of those charges mean; as well as, if you take a given plea what that means. I was highly considering taking my case to trial because I wanted to prove a point- I was not guilty. I was ecstatic I was offered a plea so quickly, but at the same time I was livid because I knew I was not guilty in this case. MR was on board for whatever route I wanted to go (take plea or trial). He was completely honest with me and helped weigh the pros/cons to each route and the given outcomes with each route. At the end of the day, he still put the ball in my court and said he would do whatever I wanted to do. MR knew I was not guilty too, but knew the potential outcomes if we took the case to trial. After considering all options with the professional guidance from MR, even though my initial response was to go to trial to prove a point, the most effective outcome for my future was to take offered plea. I would not have known that had it not been for MR. MR is honest, trustworthy, professional, & educating. I could not be more thankful for Michael Ray during my criminal defense involving traffic law case. He was truly my saving grace! The most important thing I have learned from MR--- if I am ever find myself in a situation with the police, especially the given situation which led me calling MR to begin with- it is okay to say, "NO, I will not do that. I want to call my attorney, Michael Ray." A few months after my criminal defense case involving traffic law, I became in need of a Family Law attorney. Once again, I did not hesitate on who to call. I immediately called Michael Ray with J.L. Weaver Law Firm. It was unfortunate to be a repeated client, but I was thankful to have MR's representation during my divorce case. I was able to witness the "other side" of MR's practice with law. MR was able to help me understand what each "form" meant and all of the legal terms, etc. He walked me through each form and helped me complete whatever I needed from him. I was lucky to have a cordial case, but there were times when we thought it was going to contested. MR prepared me for the next steps, just in case. I received a reference from a friend in the GBI to call up John Luke after I was arrested for DUI. My first meeting with him was filled with his eagerness to fight FOR me which left me with a confidence and sense of ease that I was extremely grateful for. John Luke prepared me for all potential outcomes but his work ultimately resulted in my pending charge being dropped to just a city ordinance violation! Perhaps the thing that impressed me the most was how congenial and relatable he was in dialogue exchange with me as well as how consistently comfortable he helped make the process feel. When I hired Michael Ray to be my attorney, I was wanting my divorce, that was already in process, to get over with quickly.
