I was accused of 'leaving the scene'. The case went on for nearly four years, starting in magistrate court and winding up in state court. State court is where this boob took over. After so many years, and numerous court appearances w/o the accuser showing up , Guy decides to call the accuser the week of trial to ask her if she is going. The woman didn't have a clue of what he was talking about. She showed up on the trial date. Boob Camuso, Jr., decides that after the trial has started, we should try to strike a plea. Genius! The day before trial, for four hours, Camuso taught. me my lines for court. He wanted to look like Perry Mason, I swear. It was so pathetic. Just before court and accepting the plea, he told me to lie by showing a picture in court that had been altered. Now, I know that to this point, not one person believes me when I said I didn't do it, but I didn't do it. If boob Camuso had tried at all, he would have listened to the cop who originally gave me my ticket. Discrepancy's in the accuser's story actually had put the cop on my side around the time we were cementing the plea. And a word of advice; never, ever, allow the other party to just "say something to the court before it's all done. Either go to trial or don't, but letting them speak is just allowing them to present their side of the story w/o the court hearing your side. I went to jail, probation, work-alternative program, community service, anger management, had to send my driving record to the judge monthly, and over $7000 in fines and fees. I had had a clean driving record for 13 years before that.
