I am very disappointed to review that Mr. Pugh has shown some of the worst representation I have ever seen from an attorney in my case. If I could give -5 stars I would. I will start with stating that I was a court reporter for a few years and saw MANY attorneys represent criminal cases, as well as I have several friends who are criminal attorneys (just in different districts unfortunately for me!) and I again have never seen such poor representation, and attorneys that I talk to on a regular would agree. My case was picked up by Mr. Pugh after my retained attorney, Mr. Holley, sadly passed away. In Mr. Pugh’s words “I did him a favor, and took your case. I haven’t made any money working for you.” After asking him to file a motion for me post sentencing so I could speak to the judge. This is after I put a $5,500 retainer down for Mr. Holley. I not once asked Mr. Pugh to take my case (and hindsight) I wish more than anything I would have said no and just hired another attorney of my choice. Amongst our first of two meetings, Mr. Pugh gloated on his success as a criminal attorney and how he served as a Cobb County Judge in his time. I left feeling pretty confident that he would represent me well, and fight for justice in my case. I was completely wrong. He not only agreed to the prosecutors on a horrendous sentence, one of the worst sentences for a first time DUI, I and many of my attorney friends agree we have never seen such a sentence as mine in a case like mine, but he also never showed up to either of my two court dates and instead sent his associate (which in the 20 minutes total of representation he showed for me at my court hearings, he so far surpassed Mr. Pugh’s representation tenfold). Mr. Joel Pugh never went over the facts of the case with me, never watched video footage, never gathered any information from ME before approaching the prosecutors. The only information he gave the state was that I wanted this one charge dropped and we’d agree on anything to drop it (which is not accurate.) I was so poorly represented by Mr. Pugh that I will be filing a complaint with the Georgia Bar for misrepresentation from Mr. Pugh, as there are other financial obligations in my sentence that were never discussed with me along with a few other facts of concern. Lastly, after speaking with a specific DUI attorney post sentencing, I learned of some information, mis-happenings from the officers, inaccurate information in the police reports, etc… in my case that most likely would have had my entire case dropped to wreck-less driving, had Mr. Pugh properly assessed my case and worked with me as a client instead of seeing me as a “favor” when he voluntarily chose to represent me. I also do not believe for one moment that Mr. Holley’s office did not pay him the remainder of my retainer fee after he passed so suddenly after being retained. The office staff here at Mr. Pugh’s office has been great along with his associate, but I would highly recommend anyone thinking to retain Mr. Pugh to think 10x before doing so.

Joel Pugh is a great man.The kind of guy that stands by his client, and does everything to ensure that he's the attorney you want . Thank you man, you never let me down. Blessings on blessings!

I can honestly say Joel got me the most favorable outcome every time . He did a great job explaining my cases as well as the ramifications that followed . He fought for me even when I was ready to give up . He was persistent with ensuring I had a chance at a better future . I would recommend him 10/10 .

Joel was an outstanding lawyer, he helped me with every little step along the way and made sure I understood everything that was going on. He always returned my calls promptly when I needed anything. His associate Ross Durrence was was also excellent in helping me when Joel was unavailable. I was recommended to them and will absolutely use them if needed in the future and will highly recommend them to anyone needing their services. I also want to give a shoutout to Savanah who went above and beyond for me editing something I had to write. She was able to make it more professional and legal that I ever could and I will eternally be grateful to her. Thank you all so much!
