My initial communication with Mr. Boles was great. I remember the first phone call when he stepped away from dinner with his family to hear about my sons case. He seemed to be available via phone or text whenever we had questions and if he wasn't he made sure to get back with us in a timely manner. Over time his communication became extremely poor and he started referring all of our question through the main office. We found ourselves getting little to no answers from the front desk clerk or the recommended app and was told send emails to Shannon who can be very detached and insensitive for someone working in this field. Mr. Boles took my sons case last year 2023, and we are STILL in court with no trial date. We show up to court month after month just for them to ask for a continuance. The state advised us that they sent over the discovery file LAST October and Mr. Boles and his office has not made any effort to move this trial forward. Their response to me was, "my frustrations are misplaced, as they cannot force the courts to be ready." However, the state has already sent over what's needed. At one point I stopped making payments due to lack of communication on the attorney's office behalf. I have since then continued with my payments (almost paid in full) only to show up to court today to have the Judge tell me this case was continued AGAIN with no notice from the office. If you want to be treated like you have a public defender and a person who's on trial for a terrible crime with all evidence against you, then yes by all means hire someone from this office. They will not communicate with you effectively and drag your case out for as long as possible. This is ridiculous and if I hadn't already given them such a large amount of money in an already tough economy I would not allow them to represent my 16 year old son anymore.

A friend of mine went through trial with Brad moody a few years back and he was an absolute joke. He refused to hire experts. He refused to listen. Did not do any pretrial investigation. After all these years my friend is now suing the DA in his case and it turns out the DA lied about evidence claiming they had evidence they didn't even have. Turns out witnesses were lying and the state is doing their level best to conceal facts now in post conviction appeals. This guy Brad moody is horrible. If you are facing serious charges you best look else where. Or go ahead and call prison and make reservations. In other words my friend was setup by people who wanted him gone and the state likely knew it all along.

I had a GREAT experience with this firm! Derek Law is a substantial attorney. He took my case immediately and without hesitation. He helped me out, and got exactly what we wanted, and what he said he would get us from day one. Despite that the case seemed to drag on due to the court system; he was always communicative, professional, and responded in a timely manner. He is very respectful, and understanding with what I needed, and when I needed it. He showed up, and did everything he said he would do and more. Not to mention, he was in the process of getting married during all this chaos! If you've ever gotten married, you know, that alone is a lot to juggle! Talk about commitment to his career, and his clients! I never felt like I wasn't a priority when I needed him. If I could give him and the firm 10 stars I would. Call Sexton & Moody, and be sure to get Derek Law if you can! (my last name is just a coincidence, I am of no relation to the firm).

James Boles with Sexton and Moody delivered in every area he said he would in our first consult. I have never had an attorney who was so easy to work with, would keep me updated, and returned phone calls promptly. I highly recomment them if you need representation.

This is a warning to anyone considering hiring the so called defense attorney Brad Moody, please do not risk your freedom with this man. A few years ago my friend hired him to defend him in a very serious case, that my friend refused to take a plea on because he is in fact innocent. Moody refused to do any pre trial investigation, refused to hire experts when asked repeatedly, refused to plan a defense, then continued to pressure my friend to take a plea deal, saying if my friend pushed this to trial he would not defend him and when my friend tried twice in open court to fire him the so called judge wouldn't allow him to fire him, bottom line is if Moody decides he does not like you or that you are guilty he will purposely help convict you, there are other lawyers out there that will do their job. So please do not hire this guy as you are playing with your life. Brad moody should have stayed with the prosecutors office in Butts county, he's a sorry excuse for a defense attorney.

Beware!!! Liars and thieves Moody is living off of Sextons reputation. Sexton has passed away. You won’t find a good review on Brad Moody. He took $6000 from us and has done nothing but lied nor has he produced documentation showing what has been done with our case. DO NOT use this firm. I cannot stress it enough. He’s rude, condescending, does not visit clients nor does he show up for court. He will do nothing for you especially if you are black. I urge anyone who wishes to sue this fraud to do so without hesitation so you can receive your money back. He needs to be disbarred. Pay very close attention to these reviews and the dates posted. The older dates was when Sexton was alive. If you dare hire this firm keep all documentation, do not speak to them verbally. Get everything in writing. You will need this when it’s time to take him to court. 2.28.24 update Brad Moody is still operating unethically and in retaliation mode. He is now stating there are 3 holds on client stemming from 2015 and 2019. Even to the average civilian this would not make sense since the now incarcerated defendant has been incarcerated last year 2023 with no such holds. When I tell you this man should be be disbarred, I meant it. I have complained to him to the Attorney General, the Mayor, City Council Members and just started complaint with The Bar Association.
