Ed was a wonderful attorney and guided us properly on what was best to do for our situation. You can see his knowledge in his years in the business and it made us feel very confident in what we needed to do. As busy as he is, he provided great service during and even way after all it was said and done. We are clear on what we needed to do along the way and his support continues for as long as we need. From my first call, through paperwork and preparation, I spoke with a small team of experts at Hawaii Disability. They displayed so much knowledge that I felt they were the best team to help my social security disability appeal. This is an awful process and I’d already been denied 2 times. At the same time, I’m not well, trying new medications and suffering from them, Hawaii Disability handled everything. When my hearing was scheduled the office set up a call with Diane for one hour and I remember thinking, “will it be enough?” I prepared with my questions, we spoke and our call lasted about 15 minutes. Diane was completely on it. In my pre-disability life I was a senior leader in a global business, I know when someone gets it and she did. The hearing itself was difficult and I don’t know how I could have done it without her. Again, as I worried, towards the end of the hearing she asked a key clarifying question of how much could I miss before I’d be fired. She clearly knew exactly how to handle the situation. Diane, John and the entire team at Hawaii Disability are unbelievable. I found them by reading these reviews, don’t hesitate to call them for assistance.

If I could give Ed Magauran 50 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would!!! The decision to file bankruptcy is overwhelming both physically and mentally .Words cannot explain the relief I had in finding an attorney that would handle my bankruptcy filing ,it was important for me to find an experienced bankruptcy attorney that was honest and could get the job done correctly. Ed spent the time to explain the process to me step by step so I knew exactly what to expect. Before Thanksgiving comes around, I just wanted to extend my “thank you” to Attorney Haar and her team. I’m forever grateful and thankful for their help in getting my disability claim approved. Before I went to Attorney Haar, I felt defeated from being denied several times for Social Security disability. Knowing that my medical condition was getting worse and that I was no longer able to work, I was experiencing depression & anxiety. As soon as I contacted Attorney Haar, I knew that she truly cared. She took the time to listen, was concerned & assured me that I would be ok. From then until the hearing, her team was always there for me to help me with any questions & concerns. Her team also assured me that I was in good hands. When I got the letter from Social Security informing me that my hearing was set, I was excited but nervous at the same time. Then I was relieved when I received calls from Douglas & Heidi who guided me & took my updated medical records as I was encountering more medical issues before the hearing. I am an attorney in the division of state government that deals with applications on a daily basis. When my husband became disabled, as a result of a stroke that occurred during bypass surgery, I called Hawaii Disability Legal Services to help us apply for SSDI because I knew that having the assistance of experts, who are experienced and knowledgeable about the application process and legal requirements, like HDLS, would be invaluable and substantially increase our chances of having our application approved. From experience, I knew that qualified individuals often get denied because they don’t understand the application process and fail to submit a complete and persuasive application that proves the applicant meets the legal criteria needed for approval. Thus, I turned to HDLS for assistance and they exceeded our expectations. With their guidance, my husband’s application was approved after working with HDLS for a few months. Throughout the application process, staff at HDLS promptly answered all of our calls and questions. They were pleasant and knowledgeable. We worked directly with Heidi who was helpful, knowledgeable and compassionate. She told us what information to gather and what mistakes to avoid. Whenever we received phone calls from individuals, from the federal government, who were reviewing our application, she knew who those people were and explained why they were calling us. Working with Heidi was such a blessing. Losing half our family income due to my husband’s stroke, with two children in college was a big blow. Taking him to many doctors appointments and speech, physical and occupational therapy while working full time was also very demanding. HDLS took a big stressor off our shoulders and we are so grateful to them. I recommend HDLS to anyone who needs to apply for SSDI. Diane Haar and her team provide an invaluable service and their fees are very reasonable. Submitting a good quality application could help you avoid a denial and a lengthy appeals process. Through this entire experience, Diane Haar and her team were compassionate and did the best work they could possibly do. They got my case approved in one month. Heidi Teraoka made the entire process very easy. She went through the application submission with me and was always very professional with contacting me and SSA office when need be. She answered my emails extremely fast and was very kind everytime I spoke with her. I highly recommend them.
