I called to schedule a consultation and inquire if my type of case was something they represent, and the receptionist responded, "Depends, ciao" and hung up on me. Highly disappointed because their site demonstrated more professionalism in representing us here in Maui and I had several business services I was going to need assistance with after my initial priority. Upon reading reviews, I guess this saved me the consultation fee. On to someone who prefers scheduling paying clients I guess.

Joy has been a remarkably influential lawyer and has gracefully represented me throughout my long and arduous case. I will preface this testimonial noting that Joy is not cheap, but as in all things in life, you get what you pay for. She is the best. We can talk on and on about her considerable qualifications and accolades but you can find that kind of lawyer with a quick Google search. What sets her apart from the rest is her relentless drive to set the record straight, on her terms, for the betterment of her client. Her “as a matter of fact” persona is such an intangible asset. So much so that as I’m in court I catch myself in awe grateful to be on the right side of the argument. I have complete unwavering trust in Joy’s capabilities and I expect nothing short of the best when my families’ lives are at stake. That, in and of itself, should speak for itself. Overall, I could not have asked for a better attorney to represent me.

Meeting with Joy Yanegida was not a “joyful” experience: she never told me by phone that her 1 hour consultation will cost 350$ , which is unheard of. I was hit with the bill as soon as I sat down at the meeting table. She started off by putting down my character and saying that I need to learn how to be “sweet” to gain the respect from the judge. Mrs. Yanegida stopped answering our questions as soon as one hour was up, and said that we can pay more to continue. It felt like blatant money extortion!
