Do yourself a favor and get a “REAL” lawyer. These people are a joke, just like all other government “HELP” agencies. They are a waste of time and you will be sorry you had any dealings with them. (As they say) You have been warned.

It's Russian roulette in talking to actual helpful people/attorneys. Watch their wording because when they say "the office for X type of case isn't open & you can call back" what they mean is they are NOT accepting those types & calling back won't do you any good. Also the chances they are accepting your type of case regardless of the type are not very good. Currently not accepting bankruptcies and many years ago they weren't even accepting divorce cases unless you were abused & trying for money/support. Come to think of it, the only people I know who actually had a case accepted by them, the type involved getting money. Take that as you want & do with it what you will. I still recommend starting here though as you might win their "accepting" lottery and can also get at least some very basic legal information even if the "office is closed" to your case.

If you actually get to the point of being able to make an appointment to talk to a lawyer, the appointments are set pretty far out. About 3 weeks, so not recommended if you need to talk to a lawyer immediately.

Land of Lincoln is a vital part of our legal system throughout Illinois. This particular office is in Carbondale, Southern Illinois. The Director of this program and all the attorneys here are smart, professional, and do great work for our communities.

They were so unprofessional and rude all the way to the manager. Then they told me they were going to send me stuff to help me never did closed account. I was referred to them through the VA because I'm a veteran needing help and have limited funds.
