I was quite fortunate to have been referred to Erin concerning my family separation proceedings. Erin has been professional, and her experience in this sensitive practice has been valuable and comforting. I hired Erin on the contingency that $7500 (her required retainer) would go to immediately handling an outstanding issue in my case. A very time-sensitive and pressing issue. I had other attorneys who would've taken the case for less. She used up the exorbitant amount of money in 5 weeks. Mind you, she didn't even work the first two weeks due to a long holiday weekend and again the following week of September 5 because she had a "mandatory attorney" or so she said. You would think after giving a person that much money they wouldn't have the audacity to take forever in returning a phone call. She forced upon me to sign certain agreements that I could not agree to carry out, and when I expressed that I couldn't (example, drive very far without having a car etc. and miss my job interview) instead of explaining this to opposing counsel and advocating for me, she said "sign this or I am withdrawing"). On the day I was unable to be with my children "until further order of court" I looked into the courtroom to see her smiling with opposing counsel. I can't imagine being able to sleep at night knowing I treated another human being like this. This is exactly why divorce attorneys are considered the worst kind; a criminal attorney takes a lump sum to do a job the right way. She just judged, bullied, and didn't advocate or protect my children. Stay far away from this start-up firm. Please contact me for proof/emails regarding this exchange. Be very careful giving your retainer to this place. An average retainer starts at $3500-$5000. Do you research find someone ethical who isn't using your money to desperately keep the lights on and pay employees because they have so few clients. Now I understand why.
