My name is Jeff, and I am quite sure that when Katz Friedman reads this, they will know what my last name is. I hired Katz Friedman firm because I had been told that over 90% of Social Security Disability claims are denied in the first application. My first contact was with Cheryl Bernard(paralegal)After I explained my situation of having six levels of my spine being fused (5) one with a coflex device they took my case. I was informed that the process would normally take 12-18 months, but more likely 18 months.
To not lose your attention, I sent back my authorization forms on, or close to February 9, 2020. When I didn’t hear from Ms.Bernard, I called her on or about April 22,2020. She said that she was going to call me because she just got my paperwork. She said that it was in bad shape and was probably lost in the mail.
So the day that I called her just happened to be when a two month old letter got to her. She attempted to file my case on the same day 4-22-20 what a coincidence!! I waited for a few months and called again after not hearing from Cheryl Bernard or my lawyer David Barish. After speaking with the ARDC, they confirmed that Mr.Barish is required to oversee her work. I can keep going on about what did and didn’t happen, but the bottom line is that my new firm was told that I was not in the system.
THEY DIDN’T FILE THE CLAIM CORRECTLY (Katz Friedman) I/we had enough money to wait for 24 months to get social security and backpay. A bit over two weeks ago was when I found this all out.. If I had continued to think that they were doing the job correctly, I would still be waiting for something that would never happen. We have lost over 8 months of staying power for bills and our house. They don’t think they hurt me financially. Unless I get a politician or media help, the18 month timeframe started two weeks ago, and we only have enough to last about 11 months because we were under the impression that all was well.We didn’t tighten up on spending. We believed Cheryl about the longest time that a claim would take.I don’t want to lose my Veterans Admiration backed loan privilege. With that being said, I am forced to put my home on the market in April. We will leave a 5 bedroom house for a apartment, because I can only show my union disability pension as income(50%) of normal pension. If I was receiving SSDI, and on my next birthday my union disability pension will increase another 35%. With both incomes and my wife’s income we would have been fine. We needed Katz Friedman to do the job they were hired for. I should be in a appeal right now, not just starting a claim. I shouldn’t have to sell my home. Cheryl, I hope that you understand that you have hurt us more than you know.
The ARDC told me to file a complaint against my lawyer Mr. Barish and Cheryl Bernard. I recommend that if you need a good law firm, DO NOT LOOK HERE. I now know that the SSA will send paperwork to you within two two or three weeks after filing a claim. Why didn’t they call to follow up? Why did my lawyer talk to me for the first time when I called him two weeks ago ? Are they that unorganized? Please keep in mind that I did call Cheryl in August, and I was told that because of COVID things were moving slowly. She still didn’t know that she screwed up the filing of the claim, nor did David. My NEW firm went to file a claim and SSDI Kicked the claim back because my name and social security number didn’t match. I realized that my middle name was on my card. When my full name was filed,it went through. Cheryl filed a claim, she or my lawyer never followed up. Cheryl didn’t have my correct birthday, place of birth and the wrong social security number. Please read the last sentence again. There are more things wrong on the claim application, but I may need that later. INCOMPETENT. My new and competent Lawyer (NASH) filed my application on 10-22-20. The Social Security Disability Insurance office replied on 10-29-20 sending a letter. This is making me feel more angry about David and Cheryl’s negligence. Please look at other people’ Comments

I had the pleasure of Jeffrey representing me and he made sure it was a smooth process - despite it being contested by the other party. Jeffrey was informative, thorough and always pushed to get what I wanted. He is responsive when it counts, his calm demeanor helped me to remain even-keeled in intense moments and he advised me when I needed him every step of the way. Jeffrey is second to none and goes above and beyond to get the job done - with most times a positive outcome as the result. I will always turn to him moving forward for my legal needs when necessary. All in all Jeffrey is awesome. Reliable, knowledgeable, patient, flexible when needed and an all around great guy/attorney. I will always be grateful for his services.

Going through a divorce is incredibly difficult and emotional. The last thing you want to have to worry about is your lawyer.
I had previously hired a lawyer to take on my divorce case. The lawyer was unresponsive, and continually made errors in my paperwork. It was so difficult managing this divorce and my previous lawyer. I did some research, and came across Jeff— and I’m so glad that I did.
Jeff welcomed me with open arms. He was prepared. He had gotten my voicemail and had looked up my case in the court docket. He gave me a quote and we began the process.
I was immediately impressed by Jeff and his knowledge.
The judge in my case was quite difficult, so Jeff had to do A LOT of extra work that wasn’t anticipated in my quote. However, he never charged me more. He was always responsive. He called me frequently and gave me email updates.
I have high standards. Jeff immediately put me at ease. It was nice to finally have this burden lifted off of my shoulders. I can actually say that I have nothing bad to say— and how rare is that!?
Jeff was everything an attorney should be: responsive, intelligent, educated, informed, and compassionate. He gives me hope for the legal field.
Don’t hesitate. This guy is honest and I can’t recommend him enough!

My goal was to transfer from my current student status to green card through my work and job offer to work as an engineer. After going through a very detailed process, I am happy to say that each step of the way was successful and I was just issued my green card. I cannot be happier, and we couldn't have done this without Richard Hanus carefully planning and overseeing the whole process. He was always on top of all government changes and new requirement and regulation , his staff was all the time available and willing to help and answer the question, acting quickly and promptly. I will always recommend Richard Hanus to my friends and Family, and from the first time meeting him, a person will get the idea that he knows what he is doing. Thank you Richard

From the first interaction with Jeffrey he was on top of everything and very responsive. He handled all of the heavy lifting in regards to communicating with my former spouse and did an amazing job at that. Jeffrey also took extra time to make sure that all of the paperwork was comprehensive and completed to satisfy the court and myself. I would recommend Jeffrey to anyone looking for a smooth, easy divorce; regardless, if your marriage was not smooth nor easy.
