Mr. Spivack is a phenomenal and incredibly intelligent family lawyer. I am honored to have been represented by him over the last several years. Mr. Spivack effectively represented me for three different family law cases. The cases were complex, long-term and involved an extensive amount of litigation. Mr. Spivack is extremely well prepared to address pre-trial, depositions and trial matters. As a result of his family law expertise, the court granted me (a father) full custody of my daughter in a divorce case. I highly recommend him to represent any citizen regarding family law matters. Mr. Spivack has the acumen and practical legal experience to navigate successfully through complex law cases. Andrew Spivack has been an invaluable custody attorney for me and my child. He understood the specific issues related to my case and usually knew which direction I was going with my concerns before I finished explaining them. He also represented me very effectively in court and I now have residential custody of my child.

The lawyer I had was poor at communication and seemed to just be going through the motions. I was initially contacted by Andrew for a brief consultation regarding a child support/miscellaneous expenses case. He spent more than twice the allotted free consultation time to go over my options. I wasted little time in hiring him. Over the course of the next four months, he maintained close contact and constantly apprised me of progress on the case. More impressively, he saved me tens of thousands of dollars. I was alleged to have owed over $100,000 in back child support and miscellaneous (medical, dependent daycare, extracurricular, etc) expenses. After careful research, Andrew determined that I in fact had overpaid child support (which I received a credit towards expenses) and whittled away alleged expenses down to less than a third of what the lawyer for the petitioner presented in the case. These outstanding expenses only accumulated since I had been out of work for a number of months. Needless to say, Andrew was instrumental in exposing the outrageous figures brought forth by the petitioner. I highly recommend Andrew’s services. It takes money to make money or, in this case, save money. Investing in Andrew will save you money down the road.

My case involved child custody. Our first court visit, he completely misstated the facts of the case to the judge. (Without my being present.) Valuable court time was spent correcting the Judge misconceptions about my situation. He missed court--an appearance I attended--and failed to find someone to fill in. (So I had to.) I met him later in a Starbucks. He still had the gall to bill me for the half an hour or so we spent discussing the case. He is gabby about nonsense when it leads to billable hours. He was ignorant of the relatively recent changes to Illinois child support laws. This was especially galling in my situation because I had significant student loans that affected the amount of support I owed. The fact that I had to cite the specific section of the ILCS to him to get him to see this was frustrating. (Note, this conversation, he billed me for. If we weren't so close to the finish line I'd have moved on...)

Andy is without doubt an excellent litigator. He prepares extremely well for cases. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He genuinely cares about his clients and will give you options. His rates are reasonable. I was very satisfied with the service he provided me during such a difficult time in my life.
