Unfortunately my experience with this firm hasn’t been great, accident occurred in September of 2023 I was referred to them by a neighbor. Lack of communication is the greatest barrier, finally after nearly a year I sign the settlement offer which states the insurance has 30 days to pay, 30 days has come & gone, but obviously my calling to see the status of payment is irritating to them as I’m told didn’t someone tell me they’d call me when they received the check. Frankly I was TOLD lots of things but what I have in writing is 30 days, have you reached out to them to demand payment, isn’t it the law in Illinois, I think you’re worried about me calling you when you should be contacting them. I don’t necessarily believe it’s a horrible firm, just busy but maybe they should train their first points of contact (those who answer the phones) to be a little more client friendly. Might I add it’s 35 days & still waiting UPDATE: I had the holder of the insurance policy reach out to their insurance to see when payment was remitted & I’m always fair, he was told it was mailed out today 9/16/2024 so I will revise my review based on how efficiently I’m dealt with after it’s received at the office, Illinois to Illinois should at max be 2 days, I can’t hold the firm responsible for the insurance company being slow but I still feel they should have been able to do something to make them adhere to the 30 day rule but in absolute fairness they are waiting just as I am & I’ll admit I was mistaken in thinking they were playing in my face, but I’ll tell you what that 5-7 day waiting for the check to clear is absolute rubbish, coming from someone who has worked in the banking industry, a check under the amount that is secured by FDIC ALWAYS clears in 2 days, so I’ll see if I can add any positive feedback to this review depending on how they move forward.

Martay Law office offers me a excellent professional service. David Martay worked very hard in my work injuries, he kept me informed all the time in respectful manner stages of the case.

Mr. Steve is by far the best attorney I’ve ever used for anything and he sure got my workers compensation worked out in a very timely manner and was very professional and was always there if I had any concerns or questions. I highly recommend Steve Martay for his services if he can help you he will tell you and is extremely honest and just could not have been happier with his service. If I ever need anything he can help me with I’ll not hesitate one second to contact him. He’s a super great guy and will do exactly what he says. I definitely recommend him to anyone as I stated earlier. You’ll not be disappointed I promise you that.

Could not reply to your response, so adding it here. Husband's name is Darrius Watson. You were the firm representing us. Just going to leave an honest review. I'm grateful this is over. The other reviews are not wrong. The communication was horrible. Calls and emails left unanswered. I had to do the repeated phone calls for an explanation. We had signed contracts and heard from NO ONE for almost 2 months. I had to call/email repeatedly to find out what was going on. I appreciated the ONE phone call from our attorney taking accountability but even then, never heard from again. I'm grateful this is done. Please work on not leaving your clients hanging on a string. Thanks.
