Keith Scherer is a phenomenal attorney. I was on limdu just trying to get better, but when my command found out I was recommended for the med board, they came after me. The so-called charges were UA and malingering. Now, their first attempt ever was an adsep due to anxiety, which never made it past the CO because it is a covered disability, it was also what caused my doctor to recommend I get switched from limdu to medbaord, but that did not stop anything; they wanted to adsep me for UA (missing a watch due to being stuck behind an accident) and in the same ten minutes walked me to another office to say they were going to adsep me for malingering. I had received my paperwork from the VA days earlier, so to say that was ludicrous was an understatement. It was clear they just wanted me out. I called Mr. Scherer with low hope as they had already covered themselves by lining up two separate adsep cases, but Keith was on it. The UA case was dropped entirely, and that left fighting the malingering charge. With him on it, the command could no longer harass me or drag me down to legal every five minutes. He helped me put together a statement detailing the harassment I faced at the command, and in the end, he gave me the confidence to keep going. He stayed with me for months, waiting and being there just in case they tried something else. We WON. The joy I felt when I called him to tell him I was getting my medical retirement was surreal. I still talk about what a fantastic attorney he is, and I have recommended him to three other friends from my former command. I have learned that he has represented two of them and won (no surprise, honestly), and the third friend just reached out, but I have faith that this time will be no different. I always describe Mr. Scherer as an animal, and he is. He is ruthless and meticulous. He has gone against my former command three times in under eight months and beaten them again and again; if you do not know who to trust with your case, trust him. He is realistic, honest, and driven. I could call him any time, night or day, with concerns, and if he did not answer a call, I just had to text. He is the only attorney I recommend and will continue to recommend. Thanks to him, I could fight and win my case. Thanks to him, I could retire medically and keep all my benefits.

Winning at trial is the reason you need Keith Scherer. He is a very thorough and a competent professional who completely annihilated the opposing arguments and protected me from any 'nefarious' attacks. The JAG office spared nothing to research my entire life spending over 90K to prosecute me. With 19 years in, I could not afford to leave my life to chance or rest on the shoulders of my assigned Trial Defense Attorney- you can’t afford it either! I was facing 3-domestic charges that held a 2-6 year confinement sentence. Be patient and let Keith and his team do their jobs; at times I got in the way thinking I knew best; or, felt like I needed to know every detail on their approach. You will feel scared, intimidated, and defeated throughout this process. The only thing that matters is that you hold it together, don’t wear your emotions, and let Keith do exactly what you paid him to do. Having peace of mind or keeping your client informed is totally BS! Winning the case and preserving your good name has to be your main objective. While at trial Keith and his team crafted, and fantastically articulated my argument that led to my acquittal with no repercussions. To put it plainly- Keith slayed the prosecution and by far exceeded my expectations.

My son needed an out of state lawyer, we received an extremely high recommendation about Keith, his background and his professionalism. Hands down Keith is the best attorney to represent service members. When it comes to the government they try to bully and lie to get their way for the results they want. Keith doesn't allow that. I had a ongoing case for well over a year. At times the stress was just too much. All I had to do was pick up the phone and call or text Keith and he was there every time with comforting words. Midnight. Weekends. Holidays. Didn't matter he was there. Was facing a very strict punishment for being wrongfully accused of sexual assault. After over a year of his hard work I got offered a NJP and ad sep with no rights to a ad sep board. Keith wasn't happy so he kept working. Next offer was NJP With rights to the ad sep board. I wasn't happy so neither was he. He kept fighting. Ultimately leading to nothing but a NJP where I didn't even lose pay. What could have been a dishonorable discharge and life in the brig turned into almost nothing because of his hard work and dedication. He puts his clients needs and wants first. He worked very hard for countless hours dealing with my command when they wouldn't do anything for me. He truly saved my life in every way possible and i will forever be in debt to him for that!

Keith was an outstanding advisor and lawyer during a two and a half year ordeal that ultimately led to a Board of Inquiry. Throughout the whole entire process Keith provided me with amazing service and most importantly put my mind at ease. Once at the BOI, Keith provided an amazing defense and was ultimately successful as I was retained in the Naval service. My only regret is not calling Keith sooner in the process. Keith successfully represented my son in a case oversees that had both career and life implications. He was facing very serious charges, which Keith was able to disprove. He told us after reviewing the case and evidence that he felt it was a false case, and he worked hard to prove that. It was an incredibly stressful time for our family, but especially my son. Keith was very direct and encouraging about what he wanted to do, but also brutally honest about the potential negative possibilities of the case. He took charge of the situation, and worked well with my son's military defense team. There was never a time when we had questions or concerns where we couldn't simply text or email him to get answers or updates on the case. After over a year of stress for our family and hard work by Keith, my son's charges were formally dismissed, and he is able to continue with his military career, but more importantly his freedom. I would not wish this type of situation on anyone, but I cannot encourage people enough to seek Keith's counsel in the worst of cases for a solid plan, focus and professionalism. Both Keith Scherer and Greg Gagne have changed my life completely. Long story short I was accused of some pretty horrible things from my previous marriage that followed me through my separation, deployment phase and divorce that stemmed from spousal support and deployment pay eventually putting me in an extension passing my ETS date by one year. Pretty much Family Advocacy Program, XVIII Corps Inspector General, Criminal Investigative Detectives and my whole chain of command were involved not to mention a couple of officers from Fayetteville Police Department. Being that this was a SHARP/ SARC incident I felt as though I wouldn't stand a chance at proving my innocence. Here in Fort Bragg, each defendant is allowed 2 military lawyers from Trial Defense Services at no expense and being how these specific cases (Rape, assault, etc.) are sometimes biased, the needed effort to ensure my innocence could be proven needed to be doubled. My father had been researching a good lawyer who is oriented in Court Martial cases and had plenty of positive reviews from those who were once in my shoes. After 4 long days in the court room deciding my fate by a selected jury panel, I was acquitted on all charges and I'm now a free man who will be out processing soon with my hard earned benefits and DD-214 in hand. My current wife and I can continue to live our lives without the burden or stress of my ex wife and I will be able to sleep comfortably knowing that I won't be a registered sex offender or be thrown into Leavenworth. I would suggest hiring Keith Scherer and Greg Gagne for every reason known to man, most importantly for freedom in which we as military service members had served for.

Just a little piece of what happened to my son, he was AWOL for 3.5 months, his Car broke down and the police ran his name and then he was detained, he was in jail for 5 days, after 5 days On thursday The Army sent him air tickets to go back to fort polk LA, so I was so worried that he was going to Stay there for Christmas, or even more time, and then Mr Keith Scherer told me, no to worry, that he was doing everything for him, So he was right, my son was back On monday night. Mr. Scherer is by far the best lawyer I could've asked for, I was facing charges for being awol, and was detained by the police after getting caught. He talked to the people back on base about me and got all the paper work done while I was in jail, so all I had to was sign a paper and be on my way.. His knowledge and professionalism really gave me a peace of mind and helped me not freak out.. I was out of the army after two days of going back on post. Definently recommend him for anyone whose having legal troubles while in the army

Mr Scherer provided excellent counsel in a very sensitive case. I am a physician in the military and was accused of inappropriate behavior by a patient.
