This man lives breathes and eats his job. He cares for his clients like they are family. He saved me from a horrible nightmare with an obsessive man! After 2 lawyers who all had empty promises and no effort, we found Mike Baker through Avvo. My case was no ordinary one . After my conditional residency was terminated and my case was moved to the removal proceedings we hired Mike. Mike stood with us for more then 5 years. He is very patient and makes sure that we are up to date on his approach with regular meetings , calls and emails .His methodology is great. The first step was getting the I 130 approved and he got that approved the day of interview. I believe the first and most important step of I 130 could have never got approved without Mike. Next step was getting the removal proceedings terminated. It wasn't easy but Mike is no ordinary lawyer, he knows the ins and outs of the immigration system and he got that terminated. Finally the i485 which took a while as the Chicago office was backed up but he got my green card. It took 5 years, but if he says he can do it , he will. Grace was the attorney primarily assisting me with my divorce last year. She is intelligent, insightful and possesses the ability to provide professional advice in a positive manner. Grace will tell you the truth in a way you can accept and internalize it. She will also listen to you. She is on time, prepared and will work around your schedule. She is strong enough to hold her own against a combative counterpart and resourceful enough to win when she should. She is also willing to compromise when appropriate and develop an agreement acceptable to all parties. Grace is passionate about her work. I would hire her again.

This practice is far better than my first attorney who expexted me to know the legal lingo and critisized me when I was unsure of the court oroceedings. From my perspective, Grace is a professional who truly cared for me as a client. With her knowledge about law, she steered me in the right direction. I liked her style of being upfront about the best and worst case scenarios. On too of that, just as my profession, she did not end her job at 5:00. Grace seemed to be available to me all times of the day or night or the early morning. With that said, she put trust into her clients because there were times she called me from her cell phone. Grace made an ugly situation into a pleasant experience. Although the services were not cheap, the outcome was well worth the money. I was referred to the practice and will continue to spread the word.
