Came to SohYoon over a decade ago while still living in Chicago. Asked about dual citizenship with Germany and was told by her I had to give up my German citizenship to become an American. ABSOLUTELY WRONG! A simple filing with the German government would have allowed me to move forward, but I heeded her advise. Finally made it happen as a dual citizen in Philadelphia with a knowledgeable immigration attorney (Ralf Wiedemann). That lost decade plus kept me from being able to bring my father to America for the medical treatment and support he required. It also cost me extra fees and hassle with a green card and travel. An attorney should admit up front when they are only competent to handle a niche group. Will never forgive her for time and monies wasted.
