I met with Mr Reid today. Beautiful office and friendly staff. However, Mr Reid was very bias with me about my case and tried to way overcharge me for something additional in my case when he didn’t even know the basis of it. He also made me feel like I was in the wrong…when I was the victim of domestic abuse for a long time….I would not recommend to a friend.

David was initially a recommendation as one of the better divorce attorneys in the Chicago area. Somehow, David exceeded those expectations. Divorce is a brutal process to have to endure and it is crucial to have the best representation possible. It is also highly unpredictable, which is an area where David particularly shines. David's intellect and creativity overcame some seemingly unmovable obstacles pertaining to my high conflict former spouse, including a full on trial over custody of the pets. There was never a time where David was outmatched or lacked assurance towards the outcome of any of the multiple motions and hearings that had to be filed as a result of the difficulties in dealing with my ex. He simply exuded (and inspired) confidence because he had such an incredible understanding of the law, along with some really clever methods of resolving conflict. I knew for quite some time that this was the road my now ex and I were going down, and I began researching, gathering information, as well as support I very much knew I would need well before I hired David. I had been talking with volunteers at The Lilac Tree, where David had been on the Board, and they highly recommended him to me. I called and had consultations with multiple divorce lawyers, but I knew when I spoke with David the first time that he was going to invest himself in doing the best he could for me, which he absolutely did. I had so many questions throughout the process, and so many really difficult and contentious issues that arose in my 17 month process, and he was available when I needed him the most, and walked me through the incredibly difficult process with both knowledge and compassion. He fought for the best interests of my three kids, and although there are always decisions and negotiations in a divorce that you won’t ultimately be happy about, he tried every step of the way to minimize that for me as best he could. The second attorney that worked with him as well as all of his other colleagues that helped me with everything he couldn’t (financial advisor, real estate agent, real estate attorney, QDRO attorney, insurance advisor), were all just as competent and truly made me feel as if I had a team that had my back and were on my side every step of the way. Late nights & laughs were such a bonus…I never felt as if he checked out at 5:00pm, and he definitely understood that in all the chaos & ridiculousness, sometimes laughter really is the best medicine. He also worked with me when things became incredibly difficult financially as well. He’s honestly worth every penny I paid him…and 17 months is a lot of pennies.
