Hands down one of the best decisions I made, was to hire David Kerpel to represent me in my recent divorce! David Kerpel is an exceptional attorney. I am not an English native speaker, I come from China. My case was very complicated and difficult case. I interviewed so many attorneys, some of them have decent titles. But after a brief conversation with David Kerpel, I decided to hire him without any hesitation. He is very knowledgeable, thoughtful, strong sympathy, think quickly. Attorney of ex-husband was very tough and also very experienced, but no matter opposing counsel how tough she was, David always very calm, respectful and control the situation quickly even though my situation was extremely passive. David is patient, Strategic, insightful, righteous, he smoothly helped me from beginning through the process step by step, then quickly to grasp the chances, David has the ability to turn things around make the situation turn out be good for me. He is hard working, respond my email and messages very shortly, patient to explain to me about all my questions and concerns. My son is American who is stay in China rather than in USA during this long divorce process, my physical condition also was bad, ex husband require our son back to USA but he doesn’t want too much parenting time. David has strong sympathy and consider all the facts for me and my son. Earning as much benefits as he can for me and my son’s future. The final result is beyond my expectation. During the end of case, I was under a lot of pressure, I had a little different opinion with David for some certain decisions , I was insisting to do my way. David was strategic and realistic in handling the issues in my case. He has excellent attention to detail and picks the battles that make sense. My case was long and drawn out. Once the major issues were settled, David pushed to bring it to a reasonable conclusion in the shortest possible time.

Avoid this lawyer! *Unless* you enjoy hearing your lawyer say "I'll try to remember" or "It's not THAT much money". In addition, he did not make any effort to explain legal processes for my divorce case so I was perpetually in the dark. Also, he continually did not respond fully to questions I asked and billed me for his half-baked replies. I had this feeling he was dragging the proceedings along until all of my money evaporated...then suddenly when there was no financial gain for him any more my case settled out of court.

The process was very good and fast for my case and they worked with me through all the process and steps which was a relief. I strongly recommend him for the divorce case.

I have worked with David over the course of the last 3 years - first pre-decree and then 2 years post-decree. From the beginning, David worked to help identify the key issues I needed to focus on in my case to work within my limited budget. Although his rate is average or a little below other attorneys, he has an amazing way of getting a lot of work done in a short amount of time. Having worked previously with a few other attorneys who spent YEARS wasting my money and making no progress for me in court, I was shocked at how quickly he could get things done for me in court and get my case resolved with a better than expected outcome. Post-decree, unfortunately, I had to get his support again to have my parenting agreement and judgment enforced that my ex was not following. He was great at helping me narrow down my case to the most important things and building a solid case in documentation and logically and succinctly drafted petitions showing the progression of things. The Judge sided with us on almost every issue. Having worked with several other attorneys previously on my divorce, as well as one on a personal injury case, I was very skeptical of attorneys in general and thought I would never find an honest, down to earth attorney that didn't just run up the bill. Finding David was a breath of fresh air! He is also so personal and compassionate, so having meetings and talking on the phone with him ended up encouraging me in this painful process, rather than frustrating me as was the case with other attorneys. Definitely consult with David if you are considering a pre or post-decree case and see for yourself!

I was referred to David by a friend. I met with him initially before I decided to go through with my divorce. He was very empathetic and understanding, and just answered questions and provided information. Once I decided to go through with the divorce and retained him, David was highly professional and responsive and kept me informed throughout the process. David made himself available for all my questions and concerns. After the initial consultation, we were able to conduct most of the process over the phone, or email. My divorce was completed in a timely manner, and while the situation itself was unpleasant, I was happy with the outcome, and David’s support.
