He did absolutely no work on my case in the 5 weeks he had it. He took all of my money despite not even filing 1 single order! He never set up status quo despite having been in court! He subpoenaed information that he never got to view. Refused to get the information from the judge and give it to me because he wasn’t my lawyer anymore. Extremely unprofessional. Often express to continuously email him anything I needed but charged me for every email. Even when they were multiple emails in one day, he charged me for every email. He’s taking advantage of people during hard times with no empathy for the situation. He failed to inform me that accepting an order of protection wasn’t just on my ex it was on MY house and all of MY personal belongings in the house!!!! He truly screwed me over. Stay away! Update after below response received. The current lawyer has done more than you did in less time with less money. You had the opportunity to draft a true motion of status quo and you didn’t do that. We were both at the courthouse and you could have made us signed an order and you didn’t do that. You verbally advised us to continue to pay half of the house and the car when I repeatedly told you that wasn’t status quo. Thankfully the lawyer I have now actually understands what status quo means. While on “good faith” you advised my ex to pay half of the car, she stopped paying all together & the car was repossessed where then I had to pick up the tab. Had you done 1 other thing besides simply filing my divorce papers, you would have actually written out an order ensuring my financial protection. Divorce isn’t long and expensive, you’re slow and costly. Have a good day Mr. Martinez.
