Fantastic attorney,very knowledgeable, very personable

Patrick was hired to go to trial. He came up with every excuse to try to settle. He and his office staff can't even keep straight who the Petitioner and Respondent are. After calling me names and filing a motion to withdraw, he didn't even have the court date on his calendar. How amusing to watch the judge send another lawyer around the courthouse to find him. Once he finally did show up on his own motion, he was frantically texting, his oh so rude secretary, I assume. Do not hire this guy if you want to get anything done in your case. All he is good for is showing up to court, most of the time.

This attorney basically just took my $1500 and didn’t really fight for me or my children. When I expressed to her my concerns she threatened to withdraw as my lawyer which is unprofessional and she knew it and later apologized for her behavior. Whenever I would question things or ask for further explanation she would become very defensive saying I’m not trying to argue with you, as if I really didn’t have the right to ask questions, I should just take her word for what it is. Communication was very poor. Many times I would show up to court thinking we are there to take care of a matter I have asked her to bring to court just to find out I’m there for something my ex has complained about to his lawyer then when I explain my frustration about the lack of communication she says, “I’ll fire my secretary “, which doesn’t help me at all. In court she just sat there and agreed to whatever the other attorney said. She said she had almost 30 years of experience and that I should trust her but her actions didn’t really show that she was experienced at all. I put my trust in her just to be let down repeatedly. Many times I emailed and got no response. This was my first time having to hire an attorney and this experience was just a nightmare and a waste of time and money. I wouldn’t recommend this attorney to anyone. If I could give 0 stars I would. To add to my previous review she also gave me incorrect information about being able to move more than 50 miles and outside of the state of Illinois and due to this she has cost me extra money in court fees and the judge said I was in contempt due to her negligence. She has caused nothing but problems.

Totally unacceptable behavior. Gave O'Brien 5 notebooks of paperwork to review should he take our case 2 weeks ago. Left numerous msgs and went to his office. No problem with him not taking case but I desperately need my property back. Due to behavior I would never trust him with any case of mine
