Extremely unprofessional when it comes to being on time regarding a scheduled conference! Then proceeded to ask me to repeat everything that I just stated to him. Would not recommend anyone to go to a person like this who can't even listen for 2 minutes.

Helped me with my divorce. The only thing is I wish he was more time management friendly. I felt like everything dragged out for so long and I don’t know if that was on him or my ex’s attorney or the court but it was longer than I anticipated.

He literally let my wife’s attorney run all over me and when I present him with facts against her he refused to send letters or anything! I asked him why? He said “if you don’t like it get a new attorney.” He also told my wife’s lawyer that he’s “about done with me.” Don’t use this guy

This attorney is poor at responding to clients. He fails to return phones calls. He was rude and condescending. Finally, as the simple divorce should have been coming to a close he dropped me as a client. He took the retainer, did nothing in return and walked away without finishing the divorce. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

I hired Doug because a lot of people said he was the best. Not at all! The office is extremely unorganized. Constantly losing paperwork and information. Had to call his office several times to tell them my now ex address because they kept sending his paperwork to my address. Then double charged me for a service which after a long period agreed I was double charged. Then again found more mistakes. Takes forever to do anything there. Did not really listen to me and what my kids and I needed or our situation. In the end he withdrew from my case without finishing his job!!! Please do not hire him. You will regret it as I did. If he was the best he is now a hot mess! Beware!!!

Doug is a honest, humble, busy, hardworking, "tell it like it is" kind of guy. All of my meetings were brief and straight to the point, he took everything I gave him and knew exactly what I was talking about(saves money) we barely spoke, not even 15 mins at most appointments sometimes. However he knows what he's doing and if he has questions he will call you. I had a divorce and child custody hearing. I brought him all the documents needed and he was on my side the entire time and delivered results. He knows how to negotiate and not scared to walk into the courtroom for you either, if things can't be settled pretrail. Doug looks out for his clients. If you are prepared he is prepared. I am so thankful for him, his knowledge, and confidence. His staff is pretty helpful too they are just a really busy place because.... they know what they're doing. Thank you again Mr. Scovill.

Doug Scovil represented my child custody case a couple years back. His associates have left and the staff has changed. I'm aware of some health issues as well. The secretary and office help are often unprofessional, and at times, unprepared. Which is unfortunate, since I know that Doug is a fantastic lawyer. He's rather stoic and tight-lipped. I believe it must be his no nonsense, matter-of-fact approach that allows his to negotiate so well among other fellow attorneys. I would seriously recommend him to family and friends. I made the mistake of terminating our contract early for his legal services because of the terrible staff. I should of held out until all matters of my case were settled. My next two attorneys following Doug had been the worst nightmares of my life. Please take my advice and stay away from Jennifer Olsen and Dennis Jasper.

I wish I could give Doug and his staff 10 plus stars. I hired Doug the first time I spoke with him. He always returned my calls and was completely prepared for whatever came our way. His staff is always kind and very helpful. I couldn't thank Doug enough for what he has done for me and my family. He is well worth every dime. He is by far the best attorney I have ever worked with. I would recommend him to anyone; he will fight for you and your rights and protect your children.

Doug represented me in a DUI case and I was told he was the best..LOL. He came across as very knowledgable and in control but as I learned later it was just a ploy to charge high fees. In short he was completely rude every time I spoke to him, demanded money for an upcoming trial he had already changed the date on unbeknownst to me then held my money for 7 months but not before he called a court date to try to fire me as his client because I questioned his ethics. When I finally read the police reports and realized that the police had absolutely zero probable cause to ask me for a breathylyzer it was too late as he had told me repeatedly that there was plenty of probable cause..he wanted my trial money and whatever else he could get. His staff is totally incompetent and if you point it out to him he tells you to get a new lawyer if you don't like it. This man should be disbarred and if I had time to pursue that avenue I would. DO NOT USE THIS GUY!!

I was referred to Doug Scovil by a trusted lawyer. I hired him. Communication with this man was non existent so we could never build a client/ lawyer relationship. Finally spoke to him he didn't know when my court date was moved to and neither did his staff. I live out of the state so I had to plan accordingly for best cost in air fare. Thursday I am told yes you have to be present, court being the following wed, so I bought the tickets. Monday week of court I get a call saying you don't have to be here. I told his assistant " I have bought non refundable tickets already." I then ask for new date they don't know and wouldn't know until wed the earliest. I stated I need it so I don't lose the air fare purchase. They did not care. At this point I'm arguing from frustration at the lack of communication between the staff and lawyer. I finally get a call from Doug stating how he was not appreciative of me arguing with the staff, the same staff that gave me Incorrect information. So he then proceeds to tell me I needed to find another lawyer. I said thank you I will and got my full refund back. I was then to call back for the court date change time his office had started and his office still didn't know the date and proceeded to tell me to call the respondents lawyer because they were not involved with my case anymore. REALLY!! I strongly recommend you do not hire his services.

Unfortunately I used Doug Scovil as my divorce attorney. The divorce took 3 year to finish, what with all the things other dissatisfied clients identified. After almost 30 years of marriage and four children ( he is an executive), my settlement was my car, <$80k and a QDRO. The QDRO took 4 additional years to complete. What I WAS NOT told is that I can't collect any of the QDRO until he retires, which he will never do. Upon his death, it will be reduced to a very very small %. I should be retired now but I have to work two jobs. It was a very stressful time; Doug did NOT look out for my best interest and should never have let me agree to that settlement.

I had a divorce with a business involved and he did not execute due diligence to reasonably appraise the businesses and the properties. He lacked competence. During meetings, I asked questions but he did not do anything, like request interrogatories to the other side. When I requested a meeting to prepare for the trial, his office denied the request, but when a Caucasian friend called and asked for a meeting, she got a meeting right away. He did not explain that the petition filing had a statute of limitation and therefore the trial could not be continued, just that it could not be continued. My former husband told me that he paid-off Scovil, while I was also still paying bills from Scovil. Scovil held up (sat on) my alimony payments my former husband had made until just before the statute of limitations expired. Finally, I did all the preparation work and they did not do any. After I fired Scovil he refused to return my documents to me so that I could prepare for trial.
