I had a conviction in my record that affect my ability to get my citizenship. Mr Johnatan came highly recommend from my immigration attorney and he was right. Mr Minkus went out of his way to get my conviction changed to the level that won't affect me anymore. I highly recommend his services.

I was wrongfully advised by an immigration lawyer to expunge my criminal record that consisted of a drug related charge in order to apply for residency. My wife and I quickly found out this was not true and were referred by two different lawyers (who did not know one another) to contact Mr. Minkus. We were without hope and filled with stress. After meeting with Mr. Minkus we retained his services immediately. We had an idea about how much his services would cost (and although it took about a year to be able to) we came prepared. It was worth it. He informed us how much more difficult our case is because we expunged the records. He was honest right from the beginning and actually cared. He didn't disregard our stress and anxieties like most lawyers we met with. Throughout the whole process we never had any difficulty getting in touch with him and he updated me every step of the way. Although our chances were slim to none in getting a favorable outcome- he did it. Thanks to him and his hard work we now have hope that I can become a resident of this country and can take the next steps to do so. As the decision was finalized the judge made sure I knew... I was sent to Mr. Minkus by my immigration lawyer because i had a DUI on my record. Because of this DUI Icould not try and become a citizen. He explained to me what he would try and do and eventually he was able to change my DUI to a different charge and my immigration lawyer now told me that nothing now prevents me from being citizen. He charges a lot of money but he did a great job.

recently hired attorney Jonathan Minkus for representation on a pending case in Lake County. Prior to calling Jonathan in my distress, I had called a few different lawyers and to be perfectly honest... the majority of them gave me little to no hope. Several informed me that frankly due to the severity of my charges they were doubtful that they could do much to help me in this case. I almost never write reviews and when Mr. Minkus just finished representing my brother and I looked for him online I felt like I had to write this. Yes, he is not the cheapest lawyer around but he did exactly what he said he would do. My brother was being deported and we were sent to Mr. Minkus to try and fix his criminal record. From the moment we met with Mr. Minkus we felt completely comfortable with him. He gave us a good idea of how long the process would take and what it would cost and he actually finished it in less time and did it for he told us it would cost. He also was completely successful. Our entire family very highly recommends him.

I hired Mr. Minkus a month ago after a convoluted incident that left me with criminal trespass and criminal damage to property, possibly pending a burglary charge. The confessions I had written and the police notes that were taken while I was in custody painted a very bad portrait of me and the system likely would have given me a severe sentence if not for Mr. Minkus. He was able to negotiate with the ASA assigned to my case and ultimately the criminal damage to property charge was dropped and I was given a very lenient supervision sentence, allowing me to expunge it by July of next year. This man has done more than I can ever imagine to help me and I am extremely grateful for his work. I would recommend him to anyone who's in trouble with the law and needs a lawyer who can go above and beyond what he's asked to do.

We hired Mr. Minkus because I had a record for domestic battery that made it so I could not become a citizen. We were sent to him by our immigration lawyer. i am righting this review because before we hired him my wife saw the reviews here and that was not our expereince with him at all. He got my conviction erased and did everything we wanted him to do. He charged us more than othjer lawyers but in the end we could not be any happyier. He is a very good lawyer.

Very good and knowledgeable attorney who was able to have my case dismissed before trial. He felt we had a good case, and was able to convince the state attorney that there was no basis for the charges. He was quick to respond to my questions, and very responsive.

I retained Mr. Minkus to represent me on an immigration related criminal matter. He was referred to me by my immigration attorney. As a result of his actions I was able to get a prior criminal conviction vacated and put an end to efforts to throw me out of the country. He did a great job.
