if you need a great divorce attorney, I highly recommend Attorney David Wolkowitz. My divorced was completed quick within 90 days. My petition for divorce was filed right away and the office was in constant communication with me. They provided guidance every step of the way. I was pleasant surprised with how smooth the process was. It really helped ease the uncomfortable proceedings of a divorce. I would give more than 5 Stars if possible.

My divorce journey started with me trying to do a DIY divorce. However, after I saw the need for multiple filings- I realized- this is the one time in my life that I needed a professional. My search for a divorce lawyer led me to Dave, During the consultation, I was impressed with Dave. He was highly professional, asked questions and provided me with a plan, the cost and the process of a divorce. His rate was very affordable and he was extremely efficient. 35 days later, my divorce was finalized. Dave and his paralegal Sam- were the dynamic duo! I highly recommend! Dave made my highly-contested case a big win! Do not be deceived by the two negative reviews in the past month. Dave Wolkowitz is top-notch. When a reviewer has to resort to name-calling and has no details to his/her case, you have to suspect that something is more wrong with the reviewer than the attorney. From the very beginning, I came to Dave with a case that proved to be quite challenging. Unlike any normal uncontested case, this one proved to be highly-contested and lasted for over 2 years. Throughout this process, there were two trials; an extended order of protection; supervised parenting; financial settlements; property-separation settlements; a court-appointed psychiatrist for custody evaluation; a guardian ad litem; expert witnesses; court transcripts; and hours and hours of testimony. Through it all, Dave was patient, attentive, kind and effective. Dave knew what to do and how to go about doing it, even before the opposing counsel acted. This divorce could have easily costed over hundreds of thousands of dollars. Dave was so cost-conscious that this divorce cost well less than even one hundred thousand dollars! My ex-spouse spent an estimate of three times as much, using four to five lawyers who threw everything but the kitchen sink at us, in court. Dave handled these motions, seamlessly, and with a disciplined fiscal responsibility that would make any member of Congress envious. Dave not only saved me heaps in the divorce, he was highly effective in neutralizing the opposing counsel (OC). One of the OCs tried to steer the case to a different court and by a different process. Dave was not fooled and fought to keep everything on track. Another OC literally tried to belittle him before the Judge, but Dave remained calm and determined. A third OC tried to justify a part of the law in an inaccurate manner, but Dave immediately retorted the correct interpretation. Dave knew the section and subsection of the law right away and brought this to the Court. Folks, this is what makes a good lawyer! Dave knows the law and he is quick on his feet. Dave also knows where to get good resources to back him up. In my case, Dave consulted with a psychiatrist and successfully discredited not one, but two of my ex-spouse's psychiatrists! This was a key battle in my case that I believe ultimately won me full custody of my child and everything else I wanted from the Court. And, because he is quick on his feet, Dave was able to discredit the major positions of both psychiatrists by simply demonstrate how they conflict their own logic and conclusions. Bottom line, if you want a lawyer with a quick wit and an in-depth knowledge of the law, then Dave is your man. Let's be honest, going through a divorce, especially a non-contested one and for the first time, can be emotionally exhausting. Dave made the situation comfortable, with his sense of humor, kind rapport and reassurance with a battle plan. He is open-minded; continuously asking for my input; without requiring me to take time off of work to go to Court every time the OC thinks of something else to falsely accuse me of doing. Even when one OC tried to get me in trouble with my job by involving Human Resources, Dave was there to reassure me and keep me focused on the end-goal. Every OC tried to provoke me in some way (hey, it's what lawyers are known for, right?), Dave showed compassion and understanding - something you normally do not expect from a lawyer. All of this, while keeping general costs low and offering discounts, helped making this divorce yield the best results one could ever ask for. It was well worth retaining Dave Wolkowitz.

My ex was pulling a bunch of stunts, filing emergency motions, and that type of stuff. Attorney Wolkowitz helped me understand what was going on. Like he said, my ex doing all that stuff just hurt him in the end. Attorney Wolkowitz doesn't like to waste time. At first, I did think he was being too short, but it was really just about doing what was effective. The facts of my case got complicated, but he helped me figure out what to do with all the evidence I had, and it worked. I have referred him to a couple of my friends, and they thought he did a good job too.

Unfortunately, My divorce had been mediated beforehand and I thought it would be fairly simple for him to draw up the papers for me. Unfortunately I also had a difficult ex who demanded changes or wouldn't sign. I made some simple requests to change wording, etc more than a few times and anytime I asked for revisements I was met with David being annoyed. In the end, my papers did not reflect what my ex and I agreed on and now I am screwed. I have to have papers done all over to protect myself. You get what you pay for. Also, he ignored me for weeks and seemed annoyed to work with me once he got my money. I did not feel he was interested in my interests at all, only his own. I am partially to blame for simply putting up with him and letting him take my money and not demanding accurate divorce papers. I hired him to work for me yet He made me feel like he would "break up with me" if I requested one more change and in the end I feared I would have nothing so I simply settled for subpar and inaccurate papers due to fear of losing money and just desperate to get out of abusive/controlling marriage. I would not recommend unless you have no requests and are ok with a very generic divorce. If you have shared assets or kids protect yourself and go with someone else

Mr Wolkowitz clarified all my questions and he is very knowledgeable in his area. He explained me about the what can be done within the boundaries of the law and was satisfied with his answers.

Dave was really helpful, and made the divorce process seamless. I just got everything finalized today in court, and I cannot thank him enough! He was straightforward and answered all my questions honestly. During court, he explained everything I needed to do and it was a relief to not feel confused. Great lawyer!!

I found David while searching online for a reasonably priced divorce lawyer who could help me with my uncontested divorce (in DuPage county Illinois). I contacted him by email and he was very prompt in his responses, knowledgeable and personable while still being professional. He helped me throughout the entire process, explained everything very thoroughly, his price was very reasonable and he honestly just made the whole process seem much less intimidating, and much easier than I expected it to be. It took about a month and a half or so for the whole process beginning to end, which I thought was very quick! I am now divorced and using my last name again, and couldn't be happier. I definitely plan to contact him again if any other legal issues arise. I would also happily recommend him to anyone searching for a lawyer for a divorce.

Best divorce ever! Ok, my first divorce, but David was amazing. I was having issues working out dissolving my civil union in Chicago while I lived in NY. David made the process super easy, and even followed up with me when I forgot to reply to emails. The process was super fast. He has great manner, is easy to talk to, and I genuinely enjoyed my big gay divorce! He's especially knowledgable about civil unions and gay/queer arrangements, and didn't make me feel like an alien for needing an out of state civil union dissolution. Thanks so much!
